We need help with three senior citizens that have been with us for a while. We are hoping a rescue or adopter can take these babies into their home or program so they don't have to spend their golden years in a kennel. We have handled all of their medical needs and they are cleared to be discharged and have been for some time.

Silvergale came to us from Davis County Animal Services after it was suspected that she had an abdominal mass. A full work up and ultrasound proved there was no mass, just her stomach emptied more slowly than it should. After a couple weeks on medications she no longer seemed bloated or had any issues. She is not currently on any medications. Silvergale is approximately 10. She has gotten along with other cats but is easily intimidated by them so she needs her own space.

Wally came to us from West Valley after his owner failed to claim him after having him for 11 years. Wally has chronic kidney disease and will need to be on kidney food and monitored closely for signs of illness. Wally is a happy guy other than he does not get along with other cats. He craves attention and has the classic orange tabby personality of love love love.

Holly came to us from Suvas with a severe respiratory infection and broken tooth. She has had a dental and her infection has resolved. Holly is an absolutely beautiful, lovey lady. She seems a little afraid of other cats but we think she'd do well if given her space.

Please reach out to [email protected] if your rescue can help us get these babies into homes where they can experience the attention and love they all deserve.

🐾❗️Susie Update!! ❗️🐾

We are happy to announce that Susie is doing SO well! Her breathing has significantly improved and so has her spirit. She is finally well enough to act like a normal, playful kitten. And boy is she playful! Her FIP symptoms seem to be under control. And she will be on medication for it until the middle of April to be considered in full remission. We are eternally grateful for the support you guys have provided for her. As well as the help from the amazing Cottonwood VCA team. Thank you for helping us save Susie! 💜

Susie has been discharged from VCA Cottonwood and is resting in her foster home. She isn’t quite out of the woods yet, but she is doing significantly better. We owe a huge thank you to the team at Cottonwood as well as to everyone who donated to her care. 💜

Update on Susie! 🐾💜
Our sweet girl is doing better and is stable while in oxygen. Her echocardiogram showed she has granulomas in her lungs, most likely due to the FIP. This has caused some pulmonary edema and pulmonary hypertension. Her medications have been adjusted and time will tell. She is still fighting and much happier than warranted based on her current state. 🥰

The awesome VCA Cottonwood team is pampering Susie, and she's receiving many churus and cuddles. We are so grateful for the staff and the round-the-clock care, as well as everyone who has donated to help save her life. We have raised enough to cover the initial testing and hospitalization, but she will be spending one more night admitted which will increase our initial estimate of $2500. Tonight they will slowly turn down her oxygen and adjust medications as needed to get her able to breathe without support. Donations are greatly needed, and humbly appreciated for this amazing baby girl.

❗Emergency Donations❗We have an unfortunate update on Susie, our kitten who was recently diagnosed with FIP. After starting her on medication she seemed to improve quite quickly. However, this past Sunday things took a turn for the worse. It is likely that Susie has started to accumulate fluid in her chest, a common symptom of FIP, and it has put her in severe respiratory distress. After doing everything our team could to stabilize her ourselves we ultimately decided to transfer her to VCA Cottonwood emergency 24 hour clinic. The amazing team at Cottonwood are doing everything they can for her, and we are incredibly grateful for their help. With this, we are quickly draining through our medical fund. In order to continue treating her we need to raise at least $2,000. But it is likely we will need even more than that. We really want to give Susie a chance at being a healthy and normal kitten, but we cannot do it without your help. If you would like to contribute to Susie’s care, our Givebutter is below.
