Not every dog is exposed to horses specifically. But if you have a dog long enough and you take them places, they will encounter things that they are not familiar with or that might scare them. So I like to take the dogs around the horses to show them that I’m in control and they don’t have to be afraid or defensive or protective Because I’ve “got it.” so proud of how far this girl has come. She was very nervous when she first got here.

Got an SOS to help this girl last weekend. She busted through the bedroom door to attack the other household dog. Brad agreed to help, so we squeezed her in. She’s here for a 4 week reset & board & train. We will work on a few things & we will also be doing private lessons (included) with her owner to make sure she can implement everything when she goes home.

An e collar, a prong collar, a crate — some say are abusive.
But are all just TOOLS. No different than a leash or a flat collar. In the wrong hands, these things can be abusive. In the right ones, they can save a dog’s life, keep a dog from being rehomed, and transform a relationship between an owner & their dog.

Meet Drako! He’s here for a 6 week board & train. Drako was adopted from the shelter & his family wants to give him the best chance to be successful. So far, he’s smart & fun to work with!

Today is National PitBull Awareness Day. This is Liberty. She was rescued from an awful situation & has scars all over her body to prove it. We boarded her & did a little training a few years back. She is proof that healing & rehabilitation can come. She loved my kids & I loved the way she looked at them & loved them. She was adopted into a wonderful home up north. We are thankful for the memories from Liberty.

Thursday was for Business in the Classroom at Northwest Rankin High School. I was invited by the 2025-2026 teacher of the year to speak about my small business Mississippi Canine Services. So grateful for this opportunity to discuss small business start up, progression, & of course DOGS with some of the 11th Grade Class members. I can’t post pics of students, so you just get me. But It was fun!

If a parent doesn’t give a child rules or boundaries, we call the child spoiled or the parent neglectful. Why is a dog held to a different societal norm? Why is the dog just “excited” when he is barking at other dogs? Or “friendly” when he jumps on your guests?
Let’s change the “norm” and set high expectations for our dogs. Hold them accountable for unsavory behaviors so that you can enjoy your life with your dog.
