Potomac Hunt

10/31/2026

This morning we celebrate the 95th Opening of Potomac Hunt.

Thank you to members, masters, staff, and especially our landowners and community for making today possible!

Members! Don’t forget to RSVP via email to the Masters Tea on Saturday, October 31st at 6:30PM at the Hunt Club following Opening Hunt.

We are also looking for a few helping hands and food contributions to make the party a success, so please check out our Signup Genius link sent by email from the hunt secretary if you can lend a hand - we would greatly appreciate your assistance!

Don't forget to put on your thinking caps (or your capes!) because we are looking forward to seeing some creative costumes at the party. Word has it that the Masters already have theirs lined up!

A beautiful morning at the Racecourse fixture, with several guests joining the fun - including hunt newcomers Aimee and Jordan, who were all smiles at the end of the day. Thanks for joining us, ladies, and we hope to see you back again soon!

And we wish a VERY happy birthday to Potomac Master Laura Pitts, who treated members to a morning stirrup cup before moving off and a hearty hunt breakfast after the meet!

Join Potomac Hunt for our Opening Hunt and Blessing of the Hounds on Saturday, October 31st at the Hunt Club! We look forward to gathering with members and visiting riders to celebrate the start of the formal hunting season.

10:00 AM: Stirrup Cup
10:30 AM: Blessing of the Hounds

Enjoy a stirrup cup with friends before the blessing, then head out with us for a morning of hunting in the beautiful fall countryside.

Guest riders are welcome and MUST contact the Field Secretary at [email protected] in advance to arrange to hunt. The guest cap fee is $150. Formal hunting attire and braiding are required.

Friends, family, and neighbors are also welcome on foot to enjoy refreshments, meet the hounds, and watch the blessing before we move off.

We look forward to seeing everyone!
