For reasons we’ll never understand, people abandon their dogs. 💔 This beautiful German Shepherd arrived at the shelter as a stray and has spent every day waiting for someone to come claim him. That day never came.

Kyro is everything people love about the GSD breed—loyal, intelligent, gentle, and eager to connect with people. ✨🐾 Despite finding himself homeless and alone, he has remained sweet, trusting, and hopeful to staff.

About Kyro:
• 4 years old
• 70 pounds
• Friendly and affectionate with shelter staff
• Has done well with other dogs
• Knows commands including sit and shake
• Walks beautifully on a leash
• Appears house-trained and keeps his kennel clean
• Heartworm positive and will need treatment 🩺🏥

While heartworm treatment is treatable, it makes rescue placement harder due to funds and foster. He needs a Commitment by 6/19/26.

He has already received:
✔ DHPP vaccine
✔ Bordetella vaccine
✔ Rabies vaccine

Kyro has done everything right. He’s been patient believing someone would come for him. Please help us change the ending to Kyro’s story.

🚨 911 FOSTER & RESCUE PLEA 🚨

We’re urgently seeking help for 8 six-week-old puppies and their mom.

This is the third generation of dogs we’ve rescued from the same neighborhood. So far, we’ve helped 7 mom dogs and 34 puppies from this location alone. 😭💔

These abandoned community dogs fall into a gap in Union County ordinances. They’re fed by neighbors, sleep under decks and in abandoned houses, and continue reproducing despite our repeated offers of free spay/neuter assistance.

Tonight, we learned these puppies are no longer safe and need to move immediately tomorrow.
🐾 5 females
🐾 3 males
🐾 About 6 weeks old

We need:
➡️ Experienced puppy fosters (preferably already approved with a rescue)
➡️ Rescue partners willing to take 4 puppies each—or all 8 together
➡️ Experienced shy adult dog foster

We can provide trapping support, temporary boarding, basic medical and assessment of mom. She is NOT aggressive. She is scared and under socialized. Any rescue helping the puppies must also be willing to assist with a rescue plan for mom.

We know foster space is tight, especially during summer, but these puppies can’t wait. If you’re a rescue, foster, or know someone who can help, please comment.

UPDATE: These kittens have a rescue commitment if we can raise funds to help with costs. Our goal is $550 for 5 kittens to cover secondary testing and spay neuter surgeries. Who can donate $25 tomorrow?

These kittens will be euthanized at the Shelter Monday without rescue support because they tested positive for FIV. 💔

Kittens especially deserve every opportunity because some can test positive due to maternal antibodies and require retesting as they get older. Regardless many FIV+ cats live long, happy, healthy lives.

Lucille is a 7-year-old heartworm negative intact female Pit Bull weighing 47 pounds who is looking for a rescue partner to help her get the care she needs.
This sweet girl has been friendly and affectionate with people and enjoys spending time with staff. Lucille has also done well with other dogs, making her a great candidate for a rescue placement or foster home with canine companions.

Lucille's biggest challenge is a chronic ear infection that will require veterinary evaluation and treatment. While she remains bright, loving, and eager for attention, her ongoing medical needs make rescue placement the best option for her future.

Lucille has so much love left to give and deserves the opportunity to receive the medical care she needs in a comfortable environment. If your rescue can help Lucille, please reach out as soon as possible. Lucille has received her DHLPP, BORDETELLA and RABIES vaccinations and must have a commitment by 6-8-26. URGENT: Rescue Needed for 5 Kittens ASAP

🐾 Litter of 5 kittens, approx. 2–3 weeks old
🐾 No teeth yet, otherwise appear healthy
🐾 1 kitten is missing a rear leg which Vet says not infected. Kitten is expected to adapt and thrive.

🆘 Immediate need: Rescue pickup ASAP. Temporary care may be available for tonight only. Contact a rescue if you can foster.
