This young man Anthony on the left with the white shirt has Autism. He has lost every match he's wrestled over 4 years. When the young man on the right in the green, Eddie Enright (MC class of 2024) found out he was going to wrestle Anthony he talked to his father Eddie (MC class of 1990). He said to his dad that he has won a lot of matches and Anthony probably doesn't win that much so do you mind if I let him win? I don't care about my record. His Father smiled with a tear in his eye and very proudly answered "that's a great idea champ". The reaction of this young man was heartwarming. The referee raised his hand and with the biggest smile he said I did it... I beat a champion. Eddie knew what he just did for this young man and really felt good about himself. His father hugged him and told him this is why he's my champ. That young mans mom, dad and coach praised Eddie for making their sons year and making them believe that their still are good boys out there these days. The Mount Greenwood coaches always liked to say that they teach more than wrestling down in that little basement in Mt Greenwood Park. Today Eddie proved just that.
