Moberly, Mo Animal Control/ Dog Pound We service the City Limits of Moberly by enforcing current ordinances and state laws. This is the official page for the Moberly, MO Animal Shelter.

We are licensed by the Department of Ag as a City Dog Pound, Unfortunately WE DO NOT ACCEPT CATS as we do not have the proper set up to care for their many needs. 3. We understand that opinions may differ regarding breed standards, rules, practice policies or procedures. Please keep comments positive and productive, and reflect responsible pet ownership.


4. Please represent yourself truthfully. No fake profiles or false organizations.

5. Our main goal is to find loving homes for dogs that are left behind and to care for them in the best way possible while they are under our care. Please share our posts so lost dogs can be reunited and those not claimed can find new homes. The Moberly Pound is also Animal Control. The staff members help both Humans and Animals and also run, clean, and adopt animals to new loving home. All dogs adopted from this facility are FULLY vetted including HW Test and Microchip as added care. We serve the City Limits of Moberly ONLY. When a dog is picked up as a stray it is put on 5 Day Stray Hold. This hold period is per the Department of AG Guideline, after the hold period ends the dog becomes the property of the animal shelter. The HOUNDS Program (This program is for SHELTER DOGS ONLY and is not available to the general public- All dogs entering this program are Spayed/ Neutered, Up-To-Date on all their shots and Flea/ Tick/ Worm Medicine, Heartworm Tested & Micro-Chipped and sent to the Moberly Correctional Center to be taught Basic Obedience by the Inmates. The Program is 8 Weeks Long. How to Reclaim Your Dog:
We ask that you bring a Collar And Leash of your own when when you come to claim a lost dog or adopt a dog. You will also need to bring CASH OR CHECK for the impound fees along with a copy of your drivers license and Proof of Ownership ( Vet Records in your name) The impound fee is $25.00 initial intake then $8.00 per day for each day the dog is here. After 5 days the dog becomes the property of the animal shelter and will be adopted out.

SEEKING SPONSORS FOR NEW DOG HOUSES

The gals at Crazy Dog Ladies Rescue and Sanctuary have tagged not 1 BUT 6 of our long term dogs!

Julie has worked hard to form this sanctuary and we are seeking donations for her! Without places like this many shelter dogs would not have a happy ending.

She has asked for help with Large Dog Houses and supplies. As you can see she has an amazing set up and is still working on adding to it, with YOUR support of donations she will continue to succeed!

Sponsorship Cost $80.00 per large dog house. Thank you to TRACTOR SUPPLY for giving us a bit of a break on them to help out!! If you can help sponsor a house please bring your cash or check donation directly to the shelter between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday. Come Visit us This Saturday from 5pm - 7pm at Animal House Pet Care LLC at 1120 S Morley and meet Bitsy! She is a fun loving 8lb Chiweenie (best guess) who will be looking for her forever home. (Same Day Adoption is not available)

Once you meet her sweet self and you think you might want to add her to your family please complete our adoption application on our website and we will get back with you as soon as possible. She will not be available to go to her forever home until she has been Spayed.

SEEKING ADOPTERS....These 3 goodest boys are looking for their forever couch! They will be graduating Puppies 4 Parole P4P Training the week of June 9th and CAN NOT COME BACK TO THE SHELTER (we are scheduling repairs to the epoxy walls and no dogs can be present due to the overwhelming odor)

They are all FULLY Trained, FULLY Vetted and FULL of Love! We will be reducing their adoption fee to $175.00 in order to find them a home prior to graduation.

UPDATE We have several adoption forms for this fella! We will be processing them this week!

Meet Sprout!

Sprout was found left at the entrance to our shelter, not sure why no one has come to claim him because you won't find a better good boy! He loves attention, is housetrained, loves pup cups, give hugs, loves rides and does well with everyone he meets! Loves to be out and just laying in your lap, he also knows how to sit pretty! We guess him to be between the ages of 3-5 years He has a vet visit Monday May 12th so he will be ready to go home mid next week!

Sprout will be fully vetted including Neuter, Heartworm Test, All Vaccines including Rabies, On Monthly Preventatives as well as Microchipped.

Come on people please come claim your dogs we are exhausted and tired and need your dogs to be HOME! These 3 have come in in the last week and yet 2 of them being puppies! Puppies struggle being in a shelter which causes severe anxiety and sometimes aggression which leads to no one interested in adopting and then the unthinkable!

WE WILL WAIVE IMPOUND FEES FOR THESE 3 IF THEY ARE CLAIMED BY THE 25TH!!

Our Story

Moberly Animal Shelter is both the Shelter and Animal Control. The Shelter provides services for dogs within the city limits of Moberly, MO.

Staff members care for the dogs that are currently in the shelter along with catching dogs that have wandered too far or have been left to fend on their own, we also handle neglect and abuse cases.
