I know it's a beautiful day in Minneapolis, but...
Last week the City paid for toxins to be dropped from above to help reduce mosquitoes...this has been routine as far as I know. IT NEEDS TO STOP! STAT!
Last year I saw a couple/few butterflies...NO MONARCHS...ALL SEASON!
I'm walking around Loring Park where The 3 B"s should be popping...birds, bees, and butterflies. 🐦 are present w/courting songs, no butterflies, and NOT ONE BEE...?
A week prior to the spraying this yea, I greeted Dragonflies, and a few bumbley-wumbley bees...today not a ONE!

In an American yard, this can look almost harmless at first.

A Cedar Waxwing is on the ground beneath a bright red berry shrub. Its wings are half open. It cannot seem to stand. It looks dazed, almost drunken. Many people would assume the bird simply flew into something, or ate too much fermented fruit.

But sometimes the truth is worse.

Cedar Waxwings are among the most fruit-focused birds in North America. Cornell notes that they feed mainly on fruit and are increasingly common in towns and suburbs, especially around ornamental berry plantings. Audubon also notes that waxwings are especially prone to intoxication from fermented berries because they gorge on them in flocks.
And then there is nandina.

According to researchers at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, nandina berries can contain cyanide-producing compounds. Most birds are not in danger if they eat only one or two berries. Cedar Waxwings are different: they swallow large numbers of fruits in one feeding bout, and a flock can strip a nandina bush in minutes. As the berries are digested, cyanide can be released in quantities that overwhelm them.

So the “wildlife shrub” in the yard may not be feeding the bird at all.

It may be the weapon.

That is the heartbreak of suburban wildlife: sometimes the most beautiful plants are the ones that turn a safe garden into a silent trap.

American millionaire hunter Ernie Dosio, 75, died after being trampled by a herd of elephants in a jungle in Gabon—an incident that has raised serious doubts within his family.

According to reports, Dosio, who had reportedly paid around $40,000 to hunt antelopes, was suddenly confronted by five elephants and a calf. The animals, feeling threatened, immediately attacked him and his guide.

However, his ex-wife, Rinda Butler Dose, said the official version “doesn’t make sense.” She questioned why lawyers were contacted before the family and noted they were given conflicting accounts of what happened.
