By no fault of her own, the magnificent Liz Taylor escaped our home for a terrifying 4 night adventure last week. She stayed close to home, hiding until she came by a nice human on Saturday morning for help. We were beyond relieved to hold her again. 🥹 She was full of burs and hungry, but otherwise settled right back into her routine after a long bath and a haircut by hand. (Sidenote- Liz LOVES grooming- she floats in the bath, and falls asleep while being brushed!).

A big thank you to the many agencies who help find lost dogs, our friends, neighbors and all the Fluffy Fosters who empathized with us and held out hope. 🤍

Liz may be considered a hospice foster, but she has a lot of s***k and life left in her. She has been even more snuggly since her return. She needs nothing more than a human to join her on the couch and pet her every time she asks- which is often!

It’s been a little over 3 months with Liz! Fun new updates include coming down to the front door to get her harness on and go for walks, and she loves loves loves her couch snuggles! Here’s a video of her coming by me when I call her over. This would have never happened the first couple months she was here. We gave her space to warm up on her own schedule. And she sure has! Liz the lap dog.

Liz is a special senior gal who was stuck for 12 years on a breeding farm. She is living the good life in foster care rescue now. Read about adopting her here:

Guess who loves a bubble bath? Liz! (She relaxes and floats!)

Guess who loves going on a walks? Liz!

Guess who is content on the couch by you for hours? Liz!

Elizabeth Taylor (affectionately nicknamed Lizard) is snuggly warm in her new sweater! She’s a hard to shop for gal, right in between small and medium sizes. This one fits perfect 🥰

Liz is a sweet and loving hospice girl, enjoying all of her days. She quietly whines when we are not spoiling her enough, which we promptly correct, as she is a Princess.

💕 Elizabeth Taylor update! 💕

Liz’s favorite things are snuggles on the couch or in bed. She has a spot in front of the fireplace where she feels safe. After three weeks, she is just starting to come to us with tail wags, ducking her head under our hands for pets. She is low energy, but enjoys her leash walks around the block. She can likely go for longer walks, but we want to wait for her next check-up to see what is best for her. She is enjoying the smells outside. It’s the little things that show her progress in trusting her new environment. It’s wonderful to see her enjoying the good life!

She gets along great with other cats and dogs. She is very passive regarding food, toys, attention, etc. She snuggles with our tiny poodle most of the day, and they usually sleep near each other at night. She is a great sleeper.

Admittedly, we spoil Liz. How can we not?! She gets meals served to her on the couch, mainly because she is a clean, quick eater who needs her space from our other dogs to not be distracted or have her food stolen.

Liz recently found her voice! That was exciting to hear (see video in comments!). Her house training is easy; she goes out in the yard about four times each day and is quick about it, especially if the weather is bad. She’s a smart girl! Not perfect, but smart. She takes her meds easily twice a day with treats.

Elizabeth spent most of her life on a breeding farm (12 years of puppies!), and her heart may be failing her now, but her love and spirit are strong.

We may not know how long Liz has left, but do we ever really know? Regardless, Liz makes a perfect easy-going, low-energy, snuggly companion who is learning to enjoy one day at a time!

Hydro has been here a couple weeks, and it's so much fun watching him grow into a confident companion. As you can see, he's absolutely adorable! Once he trusts, he is the cuddliest lapdog, and he loves blankets and being near his people. He is gentle and playful with his fur friends and is discovering the joy of toys. His tiny yorkie bark is so cute. He's a quick learner and quite the walker- he can go over 2 miles. He is a little bundle of joy and available for adoption. 🥰

10:30am: Tail wagging!

It may seem like no big deal, but if you have fostered or rescued a mill or breeding farm dog, you know this is a huge moment! 🥹

Hydro has been in our foster home for three days. The rule of 3/3/3 is so true- after three days, he is starting to decompress and trust.

He is still apprehensive about humans, but he is definitely warming up. He is gentle with the resident dogs and cat. He is off to a great start with house training and he loves sitting out in the sun in the yard. He is not a fan of leashes, we will keep working on that during our walks where he prefers to be carried for now. Good thing he is tiny!
