Here is why we suggest quarentine your new furry or hairless Freind.

Quarantining a new kitten from other pets in your home is important for a number of reasons, including:

Protecting your current pets
A new kitten may have contagious diseases, viruses, or parasites that could spread to your other pets. Or exsising cats have viruses or bacteria and parasites. Cats shed when stressed. Altho testing is critical still can stress while under stress. Shedding time is 14 days.

Giving your pets time to adjust
Quarantine allows your pets to slowly get used to each other's presence before coming into direct contact.

Checking your new kitten's health
Quarantine allows you to make sure your new kitten is not showing any signs of illness.

Reducing stress
Isolation can help reduce stress for your new kitten.

Here are some tips for quarantining a new kitten:

Keep the kitten in a separate room with food, water, a litter box, and comfortable bedding.

Quarantine the kitten for about two weeks.

Have a veterinarian examine your new kitten for parasites and disease, and test for FeLV and FIV.

If your current pets show signs of struggling with the adjustment, quarantine the new pet even if it doesn't do anything wrong.
