🚨 We Need Prayers, Positive Thoughts and a Miracle 🚨

Today has been one of those days that reminds us exactly why we do this work and why we can't do it alone.

We just took in our second emergency kitten of the day and this tiny baby is in critical condition. The odds are not in its favor, but if there is one thing rescue has taught us, it's that miracles happen every single day. We've seen the impossible become possible before and we're praying with everything we have that this little one writes another miracle story.

This sweet kitten was found alone in a basement by a concerned Vineland resident. They did exactly what they were supposed to do. They called for help. A police officer responded and attempted to assist while waiting for Animal Control. Unfortunately, Animal Control never arrived.

The citizen then transported the kitten to a local veterinary office where they were ultimately directed to call Village Trappers.

And so here we are.

Providing emergency supportive care. Fighting for another fragile life. Trying to be the safety net when there isn't one.

But this is also what happens when animals become collateral damage in a broken system.

When there is no shelter contract in place, vulnerable animals fall through the cracks. Citizens are left scrambling. First responders are left without solutions. Local rescues are left trying to absorb the burden.

We are a small, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization. We receive no government funding, no municipal funding and no public dollars. Every rescue, every medical bill, every bottle of formula, every emergency like this is funded entirely by donations from people who care.

We are deeply worried that this is only the beginning of a growing crisis.

Tonight, we're asking for two things:

Please send all the love, prayers, positive thoughts and healing energy you can for this tiny fighter.

If you're able, please consider making a donation to help us cover the cost of this kitten's care and the many others who will need us in the days ahead.

Every life matters.

Every donation matters.

And right now, this little baby needs a village.

We'll share updates as we have them, including information about the other kitten we took in today after being found abandoned in a Vineland park.

Please keep them both in your hearts tonight. 🐾

 Newest Vineland intake.

The girl who found this kitten didn’t actually find it. She was in the park with her own cat on a leash when someone walked up to her with this Kitten and said they found it.

Wish List Wednesday 🐾

These are just some of the kittens currently in our care right now… and that’s a whole lot of hungry mouths to feed! 🥺🍼

Our greatest need at the moment is Fancy Feast kitten food. Wet food disappears around here faster than we can stock it, especially with bottle babies and growing kittens depending on us every single day.

Every can donated helps keep tiny bellies full and takes a little pressure off our rescue. We truly couldn’t do this without all of your support. ❤️

Thank you for helping us care for the smallest and most vulnerable cats in our community.

We wanted to give everyone a little Village Trappers update because things have been BUSY over here in cat land.

First and most importantly… Jellybean, the bottle kitten we took in last Thursday, is THRIVING!

Thanks to everyone who reached out, donated, shared, checked in, and helped us help this tiny baby. We are happy to report that Jellybean is doing amazing and is currently eating us out of house and home like a true growing kitten should. Honestly, the formula bill alone may require its own fundraiser soon. 😂

We are also excited to share that last week we were able to spay and neuter EIGHT cats! And we already have another waiting in the wings for the next spay day. Unfortunately, she was due to be fixed with the others, but she chose violence instead. So, our spicy little lady has been placed on a brief time out while she adjusts her attitude appropriately before rejoining society.

In all seriousness though, while we celebrate these wins, the calls for help continue pouring in nonstop.

Today alone we took in THREE more kittens from someone who was turned away due to the lack of a shelter contract in Vineland.

As the weather gets warmer, kitten season is only beginning and the need in our area has never been greater. The messages, emergencies and pleas for help are coming in faster than we can keep up with.

And the hard truth is this:
We cannot do this without the community.

Village Trappers is entirely volunteer run. Every dollar donated goes directly back into helping cats in our area through:
- TNVR efforts
- Emergency veterinary care
- Formula and supplies
- Feral spay/neuter assistance
- Low-cost vaccine clinics

We know times are hard for everyone right now, but if you have been looking for a way to directly impact animals in your own community, this is it.

It truly takes a village.

Thank you for continuing to believe in us, support us through the chaos and help us keep going even on the hard days. We can only do this because of the generosity, compassion and kindness of our village. 💛
