Vaccines 💉 .
Did you notice veterinarians are going back to labeling the DHPP vaccine as a “3 year”? I went on my own research quest and posted this chart. Go to the ASHA website yourself for verification/further reading.

We follow veterinary recommended guidelines and require “core” vaccines DHPP & Rabies, and “non-core” Bordetella. We also promote holistic approaches which include not over-vaccinating and titer testing (restrictions apply). We encourage you to ask how many years the (adult) DHPP will be valid for. Be informed!

I am so pleased to finally have this overturned as these past few years I have been very frustrated with veterinarians labeling the DHPP vax as only 1 yr resulting in over vaccination in my opinion. I believe their is a balance with vaccination and not over vaccination.

Each dog will have different needs, so always consult with your licensed vet and don’t be afraid to obtain more research or a 2nd opinion , just s you would for your own health care needs.

Calling all ADT Graduates 🎓 !! Can you share your 1st week experience back home?

Board & Train’s Graduation Training includes a video, written instruction, and most importantly, hands-on learning.

We are essentially “transferring” the dog’s training back to you. Day 1 is the most challenging because you & your dog are learning how to work together as a team. Copied is a study measuring the changes when a dogs switches handlers, which is exactly what happens on graduation day!

We utilize studies like these and (human) coaching & learning methods to help make this a successful transition .

The “come” command is one of the most important commands a dog can learn, but it can also take the most time and training.

If your dog doesn’t respond to “come”, they need to remain on a leash.

We are teaming up with Marlow’s Mutts-n-More to get this amazing little guy adopted. Pisgah Pete was selected from Transylvania Animal Shelter for the Rescue Train/Adopt Program through Appalachian DogTraining, LLC. Pete is a 17 pound Jack Russel Terrier Mix . He is medium to medium high energy and will require a family that will continue to exercise him with either daily walks or hikes (he would make an excellent hiking buddy). He is great with other dogs, cats and even farm animals. This little guy has done amazing with the training program and not many dogs get the opportunity to get this extensive training to help them get the 2nd chance they deserve. See a lot of dogs don't show well at shelters - they are on sensory overload and they do not present well - Pisgah Pete was one of those dogs but Ashley saw past that and knew that this boy deserved a 2nd chance and what an amazing opportunity for him to get the training he has. And he has succeeded and is ready to find a family to call his own.

We just recently purchased our Golden Retriever Luna from Appalachian Dog Training and we had a wonderful experience from talking with Katie to actually meeting our sweet puppy. Katie was great in going over training with us and our new baby and spending as much time as needed.
