Asheville Dog Academy Welcome to the Asheville Dog Academy FB Page! We’re thrilled to have you join us! Hello from Asheville Dog Academy!
(1)

Asheville Dog Academy is a family owned and operated team here to help you dramatically increase the quality of life between you and your beloved 4-legged family member. Are you tired of having all the frustrations that come with not being able to effectively communicate with your dog? Does your dog:
* jump like a wild animal on people?
* bolt through doors?
* drag you down your block on a walk?
*

act like he/she lost his/her hearing once you take off the leash?
* steal food off the counter or garbage?
* beg at the dinner table?
* bark at times you need him to be quiet?
* dig holes the size of the Grand Canyon? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a happy, well-behaved, mannerly dog who listens on and off leash and knows how to calm down when he or she needs to, regardless of what’s going on? Wouldn’t it be great to Experience the Joy of A Well-Behaved Dog?

🌲🐾 The best training doesn't happen in a classroom... it happens in the real world.
Out here, distractions are real. Wildlife, rushing water, exciting smells, uneven terrain... and that's exactly why we train beyond the training field.
A truly reliable dog isn't one that only listens in perfect conditions. It's one that chooses to stay connected with you wherever life takes you.
Whether you're exploring mountain trails, relaxing by a creek, or walking through downtown Asheville, the goal is the same: confidence, freedom, and a relationship built on trust and clear communication.
That's what we help families create every day. ❤️

🐾❤️ Meet Emily, Brad & Banjo! ❤️🐾

Banjo's journey has been an incredible one.

When he first came to us, Banjo struggled with reactivity toward people and dogs while on leash, as well as reactivity issues at home. Everyday situations could be stressful, making it difficult for both Banjo and his family to fully enjoy life together.

Through training, consistency, and a lot of hard work from Emily and Brad, Banjo has made tremendous progress.

Today, people can approach and pet Banjo, and he does great! He's becoming more confident, more relaxed, and much better equipped to handle the world around him.

In this video, Banjo is working on his stay command—an important exercise that helps build impulse control, focus, and calmness around distractions. While it may look like a simple obedience exercise, skills like this are often a key part of helping dogs develop better decision-making and confidence in everyday life.

What makes us most proud isn't just the obedience. It's seeing a dog who once struggled with people, dogs, and situations around the home become more comfortable, more social, and able to enjoy experiences that used to be challenging.

This is what training is all about: creating freedom, confidence, and a better relationship between dogs and their families.

We're incredibly proud of Emily, Brad, and Banjo and all the work they've put in to get here. 👏🐾
