The decision to host the National Horse Show at Tryon International reflects a clear focus on horse welfare, footing and facilities, and an environment designed to support top-level competition.

Tryon International offers the footing, facilities, and space required to support high-level competition, with a clear emphasis on creating the best possible environment for the horse.

Since 1883, the National Horse Show has continued to evolve in response to the needs of the sport. Hosting this year’s event at Tryon International is a continuation of that approach—aligning the competition with a venue equipped to support it at the highest level.

The National Horse Show is pleased to announce the release of its 2026 Tentative Schedule, offering a first look at the competition lineup for this year’s event.

Set to take place from Wednesday, October 21, to Sunday, November 1 at Tryon International, the 2026 National Horse Show will feature a comprehensive program of hunter, jumper, and equitation competition. The tentative schedule outlines the placement of major classes, championships, and featured events that define the show’s longstanding tradition of excellence, such as the:

The National Horse Show will continue its longstanding tradition as an all-indoor competition at Tryon International Equestrian Center, pending USEF approval.

All stabling at the 2026 National Horse Show will be in enclosed, permanent structures. Barns 1-5 are available for NHS competitors, which feature fully matted stalls and individual fans. Barns 1-5 also have lockable tack rooms.

The stabling attached to the Indoor Complex is also available for NHS competitors.

All NHS classes will take place in the Indoor Complex, which is located just behind the Show Office. The Indoor Complex also includes a warm-up area and a general riding area. Competitors and trainers will also have access to three outdoor rings and lunging areas.

Accommodations are available on-site at the Tryon International equestrian center for the 2026 National Horse Show.

A 50% fully refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is canceled prior to 10/5/2026.

Tryon Resort Lodging has begun fulfilling lodging requests for the National Horse Show. They are responding to requests in the order in which they were received.

If you have requested lodging by phone or online, please expect to hear from a Tryon International team member within 72 hours regarding availability.

If you have not yet requested lodging, you may do so here or by calling the resort directly at (828) 863-1103.

If Tryon is unable to fulfill your request, they will provide the closest available options.
