Please welcome one of my favorite trainees - Kota, a beautiful, fully white Pitt Terrier Mix. 🐶

Kota was dumped around Milford, CT, his old family giving him up for what we believe is his recently diagnosed Addison’s Disease - an endocrine disorder.

When we first rescued Kota from the streets, he was skinny to the bone. With his monthly injections, love, and a little TLC, our boy is growing into a SUPERSTAR ✨

Enjoy watching our sweet boy learn how to Spin through my legs - and that’s not the only thing he knows! Sit, Stay, Orbit, Paw - this guy is NOT to be skipped over!!
He’ll get you brownie points with guests too 🦴

Give a warm greeting to our trainer’s kitty - Strega, a beautiful Bombay who always insists on being a witch for halloween..

Since today is her favorite day of the year, we figured it would be perfect for the first installment of,

🐈‍⬛ Strega’s Safety Tips!

🐾 Always keep your pets restrained when opening the door for Trick or Treaters! Halloween is the second most common holiday for pets to escape, due to high stress and high traffic.

🐾 Keep your candy and chocolate away!! Xylitol, Chocolate, Macadamia, almost all the regular snacks can be deadly or illness inducing.

🐾 Stray away from spider webbing cloth and small dangling decorations, pets are known to ingest and wrap themselves up!

🐾 Keep costumes basic and allow space to breathe, move, run, and avoid headgear!

Over at Milford Animal Control, the amazing ACO’s stepped out with me to capture an introduction into Doug’s training.
Here, Doug is working on his Sit and his Paw trick around distractions!! It’s a blessing to have so much support from the shelter, allowing the dogs to continue basic training.

Happy Entrance to Fall!! 🍁🍂

We’re celebrating the cool weather incoming with Friends of Milford CT Animal Control, letting the dogs enjoy a fresh breeze! 🐾🐶

At Aspen’s Legacy, we tackle a variety of training needs, from Basic Obedience to Behaviorial Modification - even old dogs can learn new tricks!

Here’s a highlight of Duke - we guess 4-6 years old - a wonderful Mastiff Mix waiting for his forever home at Milford Animal Control. Not only is he adorable - but smart too! On our third full session he’s got Leash Walking DOWN!! 🎉
