We have a special this week. We’re featuring Great Pyrenees Rescue and Sanctuary in Colorado. We know them as PYRescue.
Back in April 2024, Judy and Michael announced it was time to retire, and they wanted to do it by the end of 2024. Now it’s April 2025 and they have been unsuccessful finding anyone to take over. If they can’t find someone to hand the rescue off to, they will have to close it down on May 31st. Adoptions are down nationwide, and there are still nine dogs there including sweet Margo, Obi, Camo, Gr**go, Nero, Zeke, Heidi and Haley, and Odie. Since 1994, this rescue has provided a safe place for these dogs to go in the event of life changes, and/or catastrophic events. They’ve tried for a year to find someone to take over with no luck. Now the focus has to be on winding down the operation including finding homes for these nine dogs. We hope you can tune in and join us, then share it.

We have an exciting show this week. New 2U Rescue in Rochester New York took over the show this week, we even get to meet their foster, and it’s not Lori. GPRS Jay Jay has a secret that will be revealed this week. What do your dogs do when you leave them alone? Are they angels on their best behavior, or do they turn into the Tasmanian tornado? Roman will be here to help with anxieties. We will be streaming to New 2U Rescues YouTube channel for the first time. Do you remember Cosmo the Newfoundland? He was here back in January. Cosmo was adopted, and he’s coming back to let us know how it’s going.

Dawn will be here to strut her stuff. Dawn is Springs sister, so she is also the pride and joy of Germany, the beautiful Leonberger. New 2U Rescue only adopts in the Rochester N.Y. area, and they don’t transport any distance. You also have to meet the dog you want to adopt, that is awesome!

This is the last show for February. Hopefully March will bring some nicer weather with it.

We have an exciting show this week, and Lisa’s back. Roman is here with valuable behavior information including resource guarding.

Ursus will join us from Washington State. This 5-1/2 year old boy just could be the happiest Pyr you may ever meet. This playful boy loves nothing more than galloping around the yard, sniffing the air, rolling in the grass, and leaping through the rain with pure joy. Winkie will join us from Texas. This 2 year old girl is very special. She’s only been in her foster home for 1 week, and she’s still scared. This is not unusual or unexpected behavior. We have an exciting, and informative show this week. Show of hands, how many of you have put the leash on your Great Pyrenees and they’re calmly excited to go with you for a walk. Then when you open the front door and suddenly realize it wasn’t about you at all. Now your dog has caught you off guard and you’re suddenly going skiing behind your 120-pound Great Pyrenees for about 40 feet, right up until he/she got to that patch of grass they wanted to sniff. Or your Pyr is walking nicely until they see someone walking their dog towards, and suddenly you have Cujo at the other end of the leash? Ecora will join us from Texas. She just turned 3 years old in January and loves a cozy snuggle session. And when it comes to pampering, this girl absolutely loves belly rubs and ear scratches. You won’t need a doorbell; Ecora comes with a built-in security system, politely alerting you whenever someone’s at the door. This gets better; she’s letting her 8 week old puppies tag along too. There’s Eli, Ella, Elvis, Egan, Eddie, Eva, and Enzo.

Welcome to the first Rescue Show of the year. Whew, we’re excited about everything happening on this weeks show. Molly is hosting with Steve, but only kind of. Molly is at GPRS HQ, she’s going to feature some HQ dogs. Behavior Consultant Roman Gottfried with Holistic Dog Training will be he covering one of the Q & A questions sent in.

Elcie will strutt her stuff. She’ll be 4 years old in May but her foster mom reports she’s a beautiful, bouncy pup who’s guaranteed to bring a ray of sunshine into your life. She also says don’t be surprised if she accidentally knock over a little person or two—but it’s all in the name of love! I would say older kids are in order. Murphy will be here, he’a a year younger, he’ll be 3 in May. THE PITSKIES need to get separated. They are COOOOCOOOOLAAAALAAAA If anyone can foster a solo pup that would help a ton. They are also available for adoption 2 Girls 3 boys all adorable and EXCEPTIONALLY GOOFY Most have wonky ears not like either breed really and all are sweet and friendly. Please help!
