I am blessed to have some good friends who made me this EB out of license plates. We hung it on the barn, so everyone comes up to the house to see it. Thank you, Jennifer and Bill.

So blessed to have Bill Heindl as a friend and he is a talented artist. He custom painted this box for me.

Beautiful day in the woods, the woodcock were not in their usual haunts as they had thick layers of snow. Did a lot of walking today to put up six woodcock and harvest two. Theta had a gorgeous point with Diesel back that Bill and I both shot on the flush. Otto pointed the other bird. Woodcock were nervous today with all the noise we made through the woods. Diesel with a couple points that the birds flushed as we were walking in. Bill Heindl on the right will be 84 years old next month. I want to be able to walk like him at that age.

You know your a woodcock hunter when your pulling thorns out of your knee a day or two after hunting. I am pretty sure this one was from Saturday or maybe New Years Day.

38 degrees, but you could feel the snow storm approaching. We did a couple mile walk and a little over two hours walk in the woodcock woods with Bill Heindl (who will be 84 next month) and Darrel Feasel before the snow starts flying tonight. We had eight pointed woodcock and Bill and Darrell shot one each. I did not fire a shot and enjoyed working the French Brittany’s and taking pictures. Pretty cool to spot them on the ground and take photos while the dogs are pointing them. See if you can find them in the photos.
