Jack is the best darn travelling dog! I took him to the doc with me early last week and they honestly thought he was a therapy dog. 😍🤩 This week we're travelling with the RV and he's just quiet and well behaved everywhere we go.

PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THIS UNSCIENTIFIC NONSENSE
.. I'm sure you've seen something along these lines about how you NEVER EVER EVER shave a double-coated breed. And I've seen this idiotic demo about 10 times now on social media. You know why it's idiotic? Because a dog isn't an ice cube. A dog has an internal temp of 100 to 102 degrees. So you know what happens to that heat inside when it's also super hot outside? It stays IN. Dogs can't pant enough to get the heat inside to escape when it's super hot outside. Especially if they're at all overweight or have any comorbidities.

Willow and Jack can handle the extreme heat ok; I've never had to shave them. But our first Aussie, Ollie, was absolutely *miserable*, even with her coat regularly groomed. So we would shave her down to where she had about an inch or 1.5 in of fur left. The change in her demeanor was always dramatic- she'd be happier and more active immediately after. She needed her coat shaved every summer. People will tell you it'll cause alopecia in spots to shave them down- and it can if you shave them too short. So don't go less than an inch or so.

Bottom line: a double-coat is INSULATING. When it's hot as hell outside, that internal heat is being kept inside. If your dog is miserable, and you're not showing them, shave them. Please do not believe the echo-chamber BS.

We decided due to interest we will breed these 2 jokers one last time in the spring. That gives Willow a break, and us time to move. They make gorgeous and awesome puppies that integrate easily into their new families. These are versatile pups that can go almost any direction: family dog, working dog, performance sports, farm dog, water dog - you name it, they can probably do it. I opened up the wait list on GoodDog, and will open it up here as well. A non-refundable deposit of $250 gives you pick of the litter and goes towards purchase price. It also allows you to specify if you want your pup to have a tail.

These dogs are ASCA/AKC registered, microchipped, come with a 2-yr health guarantee, from health & genetic tested and titled parents, and have been exposed to lots of things and different people before they go to their new homes.

Frank AKA Blue Eyes was dropped off with his new family today. I'm excited for him: he's gonna live on the coast and be a beach and travelling dog. ❤️ Congrats to his new family! He's a smart, fun pup!

These last 3 are waiting for microchips and then they head to their new homes soon! I will kinda miss them. Raising pups from this pairing has been a lot of fun. They've all been so pleasant and easy.

Congratulations to Pike and his new boy!! This kiddo had wanted a puppy for a while, and his fam decided to come check out the 2 pups I had left. Pike won him over with his hilarious grumpy eyebrows and mismatch eyes. ❤️

Congratulations to the Underhill family and to Mountain- their new family member! When Mountain is older he will be heading to Laura De La Cruz's for some training and titles! I am thrilled Mountain is going to such a good home. ❤️❤️

I need a home for this guy that's interested in dog shows and dog sports. Specifically someone that thinks they might want to dabble in conformation and thinks herding sports look fun. I suspect that this one is going to take after his mom in size and build because when I look at pictures of her at his age they look very very similar. And if that ends up being the case, then he could participate in ASCA conformation shows with a shot at winning some points. He definitely will herd so getting him some titles in herding should be super easy. He is an absolute lover, and is very sensitive to correction. He also seems to understand us intuitively so he's very easy to handle and deal with. If we weren't moving I would keep this one and title him myself because I think he could be the goal of my breeding program: a pretty dog conformationally with the brains and grit to work all stock.
