🐍✨ A Day in the Life of a Pet Sitter: 🐍✨
(Also known as: "Where’s Zuko?")
Pet sitting isn’t always just belly rubs and tennis balls. Sometimes, it’s searching for a grumpy snake named Zuko who’s gone completely MIA, and may or may not be in the middle of shedding his scales.
Last month, our client (let's call her MC) was worried when she hadn’t heard any updates on her beloved hog-nose snake, Zuko. None of our sitters had seen him in several days, and feeding time had come and gone with no sign of the sneaky noodle.
Cue the Team PPS Investigation Unit 🕵️♂️🐾
🧐 Sitter Josh was the first to raise the alarm that Zuko hadn’t been spotted in several days and might need some extra sleuthing.
🧠 Sitter Emily explained that hiding during shedding ("going blue") is normal snake behavior, but also suggested it could be worth checking in.
🧠 Sitter Marcia double-checked the notes and coordinated the evening visit while managing dog duties with Pippin.
🙈 Sitter Aimee wisely recommended getting permission before playing a game of “Where’s Waldo” in the terrarium.
🙋♀️ The client, MC, confirmed: Yes, please dig for the noodle.
🚨 Sitter Emily bravely volunteered for the mission, warning that Zuko might "musk and grump" but wouldn't bite.
🐍 Mission: FIND THE NOODLE was officially a go!
With Marcia managing Pippin the dog, Emily dove into Zuko’s tunnels, unearthing one very annoyed but totally okay snake. 😤➡️😌 Once he realized he wasn’t in danger, he let Emily hold him for a bit before slithering off to continue his post-shed sulk.
The client, MC, was thrilled and relieved. Zuko is safe. Pippin got his walk. Marcia got to avoid the snake. And Emily? Well, she earned her honorary “Snake Whisperer” badge.
✨ Teamwork like this happens behind the scenes every day, and not just with snakes. Whether it’s medicating cats, walking anxious pups, or rescuing a chicken from a roof at sundown (true story), our sitters go above and beyond to care for your pets like family.
🧡 Thanks to the MC family for trusting us once again, and to our pet care pros for their dedication, communication, and bravery in the face of a grumpy reptile.
