When people tag us to take a dog, it wouldn't matter even if we had room.
We'd love to help another shelter dog. But that isn't something we can do right now.

This is our current vet bill.
You can see what we paid end of Oct.
We don't hide anything.
Every dollar raised for this rescue goes for vetting, food and supplies. Monthly preventatives.

Also included, the dogs we have currently in foster care.
Many are ongoing medical.
I'm sure you've seen the constant posts 😮‍💨

To every single person who has donated and continues to support us - THANK YOU.
You are the reason why we have helped save alot of dogs and got them outta Texas and to a better life.
You are the reason why we continue to keep our mission alive.

But I also honestly think so many other people just don't get it.

Just keep taking dogs and "figure it out"
Well, that plan doesn't work anymore. It did a year ago. And years before that.

It's easy to constantly tag rescues but what happens next?
After they take the dog.
Those people disappear after that.
The excitement is gone for them.
Onto another one.

Yes we get those occasionally and extremely grateful.
Every little bit helps.

Have a birthday coming up?
Do a birthday fundraiser and choose us to raise funds for.
It's so easy to do.

We are so fortunate to have the best Vet in WTX.
Also, a very understanding Vet.
They are amazing to our dogs.
But we can't just keep walking in and running our bills up, with a new dog every other week.

So please understand why we have to say no so many times.
We are sorry. We feel guilty not being able to help 😞

But this is our reality.
So we are posting in hopes to raise a little bit of funds to get this bill paid down this month.

Check out our girl Stacie and her new career 📸🐾

Being an adorable cookies & cream Cowgirl 🤠🩷
Showing off her modeling skills and taking in all the attention.

Wanting to do something so different, fun and bring in our love for rustic and western styles.

Our favorite person and pet photographer Tasha Sport Dog & Pet Photography put together a creative amazing idea. Had the perfect place in mind and everything that goes with it.
Her unique vision as always.

Stacie as y'all know, was so incredibly shy in our shelter.
So sweet, yet just wasn't sure how being dog really went.

Carried out of the shelter, going into foster care. We thought she really needed the chance to find out how fun life could be.
Help build her confidence.

And we couldn't love this more.
It was a work in progress but that's what we love about doing this.
Some dogs just need a little extra to understand life isn't always full of bad. There is so much more for them.

We want to take a moment to share an update on our boy Rocky.
His now and before.

Share his resilience. And the trauma he has endured.

But first let us thank his medical foster mama Tama Parker Hobbs for the extreme hard work she has literally poured into his care.

Alot of vet visits, back and forth. Medications. Handling a 90lb Shepherd mix with at first had horrible anxiety, brokenness physically and mentally.

For these beautiful photos of Rocky. She absolutely captured his beauty, quirkiness and personality.
Her magic works wonders ✨️🫠

As many know and those who don't.
Rocky was originally adopted from our local animal shelter two years ago as a puppy.

Became a street dog. He would get away from his home. Go back. And get out again. Until one day he got away and that day changed everything.

He was running down a road and was hit by a car. Pretty badly.
Was picked up by AC and brought to the shelter.

The shelter made a plea to local rescues, and once we found out we went up and met him. Got his info and decided that day we'd take him. Tama was all in 🥹

Once we got him loaded in the car Rocky started to panic. We had to immediately stop and call for help for someone to help keep him calm while driving very quickly to the vet due to excessive bleeding.
And that's when David Holman came to our rescue and rode with us to the vet. Doing his best to keep Rocky calm.
It was the craziest ride ever we can attest to that 😳

Rocky was rushed into the vet with staff waiting to get him sedated and stop the bleeding, and get him calmed down.

Fast forward, Rocky had surgery to have a pin and plate put in.
This was in July.
He has a compound fracture which also had infection.

He has been making several trips to the vet for repeat xrays to see if infection has gone away so he can have the pin removed.
As of last week he's still not quite there.

So we wait another few weeks and check again.
He's been fully vetted during all of this.
Until then and through all of this she has worked so hard to get him over the extreme anxiety, he has made new fur friends, learned to walk on a safety leash and collar.
He's pretty darn goofy.

Aka - Scooby-Doo 😅

His car riding skills have improved and he's no longer panicking.
He's still alot to handle especially at vet visits 🫣 but he's getting somewhat better.

We want to thank everyone at Town and Country for everything they've done for Rocky and us.
It's been a whirlwind but Rocky won't ever be failed again.

We wanted to share the now and his before. The part of rescue that reminds us why we do what what we do.

And when he is ready. He'll finally get to go to his Fur-Ever home. A home that will give him everything he deserves unlike the last one.

When his owners knew of his situation and surrendered him. And walked away.

We are grateful he has another chance of a truly happy life.

Dandys surgery went good
She's been slowly recovering at her foster home.
Each day is better and better for this tiny fighter 🙌

We were able to go visit her and give her some love

We are still short on funds.
Drowning in unexpected bills really hurts.

And we are so blessed.

Home Sweet Home 🤗🫶🏡

New families. New adventures.
And a forever love ❤️

To close intake or not to close intake.

It's always always on my mind.
A constant battle in my head.
Or should I close permanently.

Ya know rescue has been a real 💩 show lately. People throwing away their dogs like they do their kitchen trash.

No worries. I can toss it to the streets and someone else will clean it up. Dead or alive, some other human will clean up my mess I created.

Dogs like Stacie. Another throw away. Unloved. No one cared. She was easily disposable. She's just a dog. She'll be fine living on the streets.

But luckily for Stacie, she ended up in our shelter. Without injuries or pregnant. Or maybe with 8 puppies to nurse.
She didn't suffer horrifically somewhere alone and eventually die.

Just a shy sweet dog. Loving. But so confused. No one came to claim her.

One of our fosters who loves the shelter dogs. Goes there regularly.
Just had two dogs leave on transport.
She met Stacie few days ago.

So what did she do?
She went to the shelter today on her day off.

Hung out with Stacie. Sent me photos, videos.
Asked if we could take her.
I said maybe next week.
The conversation kept going and I knew it was now or never.

I had to really think about this.
Financially wise. I wanted to say no.
But as some know me, I'm not telling a foster no while sitting with a dog begging to save a life.

We paid $1,800 on our vet bill today. Don't believe it, ask the vets office.
We still have a $3,000 balance left.
We've got medical dogs with follow ups one after another.
Meds to give.
Monthly preventatives to keep up.
Food.

It's been so overwhelming I literally just about decided to shut it down forever.

But that thought has gone for now.
Dogs are in need of help. Fosters love to save them.
And so we shall rescue.

Stacie deserved this day. Like they all do.

So now she is safe. Loved. And her little worries are behind her.

So of course we will need funds.
Food, vetting. All the stuff we always need for a new dog.

She was spayed already at the shelter.
But still needs more vaxx.
Monthly preventative. Food.
Fecals. Hopefully she isn't positive for any type of gross parasites like Coccidia or Giardia.

We just ask whatever you can donate is appreciated.
If you can't that's ok and hope you can share.

Will it be our last intake for 2026?
That's up for debate.

We are fully funded by donations only. Our money is spent on the dogs only.
