Most of the saddles (the clean ones in this picture) had their covers put back on after trail course practice today! Only 1 saddle didn’t get covered. Thank you to the girls who put the covers back on (not sure if it was the helpers or riders) and put their things away neatly! It helps tack last longer and lightens my work load in the evening. When you take care of the equipment and horses’ needs after your ride, it makes me feel like you care; I notice and appreciate that. 🥰

Do you have a horse lover who would love to try out a program here? We have 3 spots available for our next “Basic’s” camp with availability. It is July 20th-22nd from 10am-1pm. Ages 7 and up. Each camper will be assigned their own horse where they will learn grooming, tacking, riding, safety, horse care, anatomy, leading, navigating obstacles, and more. A $50 deposit holds your camper’s spot. Send us a message to sign up!

Had to say goodbye to another good one. Cherokee, our third horse, purchased to teach Miss Dayna Bailey all the basics in horsemanship. Cherokee took her job seriously as she does all her jobs. Cherokee had done it all! She had 6 babies, packed on hunting trips, taught western and English to all sorts of riders. Cherokee was a no bull crap kind a mom too. Taught Millie everything she knows. She also helped raise Lady. I really can’t say enough good things about her. Cherokee’s joints were causing her a lot of pain. So we gave her the last gift we could. Fare thee well, Cherokee! We will always love you and forever miss you!❤️

We would like to thank several folks for sponsoring several kids’ summer camps for this upcoming season! Big thank you to Gwen Holmgren Thomas, Lisa Mayerhofer, Kristen Collins, and Robin Ellis for your donations! That is a huge help for the horses and such a blessing to our students. 2 of the sponsorships have already been awarded, and we have 3 more available! We are so grateful for your support. It’s because of people like you ladies that allow us to continue what we do: taking in horses who need somewhere to go, and offering educational activities to our community. We would like to thank Dr. Smith at Idaho Equine Hospital for his time with our horses today! Dr. Smith examines the horses annually; he checks/floats teeth, performs lameness exams when needed, administers vaccinations, and everything else in between. We are so grateful for his expertise and patience with our large, varied herd.

We have a variety of breeds, sizes, ages, and medical conditions in our varied herd. We are so grateful for Dr. Smith and his insight. Thank you, Shane!
