Lenny initially founded Volver A Casa in 2013 to help reunite lost pets with their owners in Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia and Dominican Republic. While reuniting pets with their owners, Lenny saw how much more the animals that did not have a home needed. She witness first hand the abuse and neglect of the homeless animals. That made her start a small rescue with a foster base community page named
Volver A Casa, which provided funding to independent rescue organization for emergency care, immunization and food for the animals in impoverished countries. Voice Animal Rescue (VAR) was born from a small group of volunteer. VAR is a foster home base rescue no for profit organization with a small cage free sanctuary in the Dominican Republic for animals that due to age or disabilities are not adoptable. We make sure that all dogs and cats rescued by us are provided veterinary care, clean living condition, food and socialization. We educate the public of the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We also help pet families stay together during hard times. We provide emergency medical care, pet food and medication to families in need due to economy reasons. All pets that we rescue are place in a loving foster home where they are trained and acclimate to be adopted by their new family. After the adoption, we follow up with the adopted family to insure that the pets are treated in a responsible manner.
