A Pause with Purpose
While River, the boy who started it all, is currently recovering from his surgery at the Vet hospital— I thought I would take a moment to update everyone on what I’ve been doing at Doodle Roots since I’ve not shared any cute puppy pictures recently.
River has been the calm in the current, the heart behind all we do, and the reason Doodle Roots ever came to life.
Over the past several months, I’ve taken a whelping pause to focus on River’s health. His growing medical needs have created a time of reflection, and deep love. I feel we’re closer to finding him help with his recent surgery and hope this will open up the opportunity to welcome future litters in 2026.
This pause has opened space and much reflection on all I do at Doodle Roots. It has allowed space to listen, to self-reflect, and to explore new pathways of service. Out of that stillness, something new is beginning to grow.
🌱 I’m starting a community-rooted project called One Ripple, Many Roots—a space for small acts of kindness, heart-centered outreach, and ripple-rooted service in the Northern Kentucky area. It’s a continuation of the same spirit River has always carried: gentle presence, deep connection, and quiet impact.
It’s still in its foundation, but I know the vision I have for it and feel it’s going to bring to life the reason Doodle Roots was founded.
I do hope you’ll follow along at —and even more, I hope you’ll feel inspired to bring some of the small acts of kindness into your own corner of the world. Because one ripple can grow into many roots.
One act, one heart, one ripple at a time.
