The Story of Auggie and Clover ❤️

“On May 1, 2022, we picked up Auggie (formerly Ballard) just over the border and instantly fell head over heels with our sweet boy and his incredible ears.

Fast forward three years, and fate sent us a photo of Clover, a 4-month-old pup who looked like Auggie’s twin (yes, those ears again!) and desperately needed rescue. We were hooked. With amazing help from Auggie’s foster mom, Clover was pulled to safety and began her journey north. On March 7, 2025, we drove down from Canada to meet her in Philadelphia and finally bring her home.

Now Auggie and Clover live side by side with their two other fur siblings and three human siblings. They aren’t related, but their stories run parallel: both strays, both ending up in the same shelter, both saved thanks to fosters, and both now inseparable.

We are forever grateful to everyone who had their hands saving these beautiful souls and so many others. Black dogs are so often overlooked, but Auggie and Clover prove just how extraordinary they are.

Here’s to every black dog waiting for their chance - may they all find love and families of their own.

Izzy is available for adoption here at Perfect Pet Rescue . 4 years A beloved owner's illness once again rendered a dog homeless. Our boy, lzzy, though, made it through the last couple of months still his sweet, loving, playful, and active self. In fact, if there is a female human, lzzy will be cuddling with her. If there is a ball, he'll be chasing it. If there is a leash, he'll be eagerly awaiting his walk. In fact, this handsome 4-year-old has great leash manners which makes him a joy to walk, and..he's also potty trained! Izzy weighs 6 pounds and is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccines.
