Hurricane Helene – Unmet Needs Survey (Primary Residences Only)

Candler County Emergency Management is working with our Long-Term Recovery Group to identify folks who are still dealing with impacts from Hurricane Helene.

If your primary residence was affected and you still have unmet needs—repairs, debris, or anything that hasn’t been resolved—go ahead and fill this out.

This helps us get a clearer picture of what’s still out there and where we can help.

🎄Candler County, Christmas mode has officially kicked in. Thanksgiving was three days ago, the leftovers are starting to look questionable, and folks are sliding straight into the holiday spirit.

🎅That means it’s time to push Operation Bike Drop Plus into high gear.

We’ve had a handful of generous folks step up already and we’re off to a good start, but we are nowhere near the finish line. The number of kids we want to reach this year is big and we do not intend to fall short.

The mission is simple. Give as many local kids as possible a Christmas morning like the ones we grew up with. Bikes in the yard, fresh air, scraped knees, big smiles. That is what this is all about.

So here is the challenge. If you can help, please help. If you were thinking about helping, now is the time. And if you are just a little competitive, here is your chance to outdo your neighbors. You know exactly who I am talking about.

Whether it is bikes, helmets, outdoor gear, monetary support, or stepping up as a sponsor, every bit moves us closer. The flyer has all the details on how to jump in.

Share this. Tag people. Get it out there. Rally your family, your friends, your church folks, your coworkers, even that one friend who still owes you a favor.

Let’s show these kids what Candler County can do. Let’s make this the biggest year yet.

After an emergency, you may need to survive on your own for several days. Being prepared means having your own food, water and other supplies to last for several days. A disaster supplies kit is a collection of basic items your household may need in the event of an emergency.

The cold weather is here and it’s only going to get colder!!

If you know someone without heat, please reach out to us.

Remember to keep the area around your space heaters clear. Many house fires have been because of space heaters in the recent days.

Stay warm but also stay safe!

Candler Strong has scheduled a hurricane clean-up for Saturday, December 14th at 8:30.

Many people have reached out about helping those who need help cleaning up their yard after the hurricane.

The Flower Basket was able to find a new location at 231 SW Broad St. The others have not been able to re-open.
