Short’s Fawn Rescue is a nonprofit organization serving Lapeer County and the surrounding area. We rely entirely on donations to keep the doors open and provide life-saving services for displaced, injured and orphaned fawns. There is no monetary compensation from state or federal sources for what we do. Our work is very rewarding, however, the days are long and exhausting, both physically and emot

Hello Friends of the Fawns! As the herd grows they consume more and more formula, until they begin to graduate to greens. We a making around 8 gallons of formula daily to feed these hungry babies. I just ordered more formula, but we are also low on the probiotic we use to help make the formula more digestible. Hello Friends of the Fawns! The fawn calls have been coming fast and furious. We had a record number of calls in May, due in part to the crazy weather producing so many hypothermic fawns. To say it's been busy is a gross understatement. All of that said, our intake stands at 29 and we need to go on intake hold for a bit, in order to get caught up and get some fawns moved, etc. Please be patient, we are working as fast as we can to open additional pens and free up some space. Thank You!
