It's been awhile since I did a little bio and a lot has changed in the past year so let's catch you up!

Hi, I'm Amber and I'm a recovering do-it-all-er! I guess that's not true, I'm still an addict cause I'm not trying to slow down at all. 😂 I am a professional seamstress & fashion designer with over 25 years of experience in the sewing industry. I am a Certified Canine Nutritionist as well as a K9 Handler. I have an amazing husband of 18+ years, 2 teenagers, 5 dogs, and need a massage and a nap.

For real though, I love my life, I love my family and I'm obsessed with my dogs.

These photos are Kona and I, she changed my life in a million and one ways and I will never be able to put into words what she means to me and my family. She inspired not only a brand but a community, a way of life and an entire empire!

Let's break it down! We now have 3 separate companies that all started with Kona.

Kona Dog Wear | Amber started in 2018, manufacturer of dog gear and K9 training tools.

Kona's K9 Shop established in 2025, store front in Mesa, AZ selling working dog gear and top of the line nutrition.

Kona's K9 Services established in 2026, Narcotics Detection K9 Team. EOD K9 coming 2027. Limited pet sitting services offered.

The Kona Dog Wear Pack our pack of 5 dogs, follow along for puppy shenanigans, dog training, sports, competitions and life adventures

Every product starts as an idea in my head.
I research, I test, I plan, I spend an obscene amount of money and hope it all pays off.

Over the last couple months I have invested in 4 new machines to help bring some of these ideas to life. For now they remain top secret but one day I will share them with the world.

We do BioThane Rope leashes a bit different over here! Most brands use metal clamps that simply aren't suitable for dog gear. They only squeeze the outer PVC layer of the BioThane, eventually this can wear down and fail. At Kona Dog Wear we use industrial sewing machines to sew straight through the inner rope core where the strength of the coated rope is.

BioThane rope leashes are lightweight and ultra flexible, perfect for small dogs, heal work, everyday outing and compact storage.
