All winter long we lope circles, track cattle, train, train, train… for what?
For the warmer days, my horses make my living for me. They carry me for many miles over several different ranches. They have to be good, solid, dependable. When they prove that to me, only then do I offer them to YOU the public as broke horses-ready for anything. Then I start over.
Value is a relative term though. Everyone has different standards and everyone has their top dollar that they are willing to spend. Gentle is a relative term, what’s gentle to me is not to somebody and what’s considered gentle to others is not to me. So what are these things to me?
My horses went to 20+ brandings this year. They shipped, sorted, and doctored on a set of 400+ yearlings. They worked in and around Albin, La Grange, Horse Creek, Chugwater, Meriden, Nebraska +. They also worked at my personal business, tagging calves, pairing out, moving pairs, moving other horses, and tracking down unruly bulls. They crossed water, trudged through sandy country and climbed through the rocks and greasewood.
Most importantly, they knew their job and did it for me. They worked hard and treated me well. They saddled up everyday and walked out without bucking or spooking or any funny business. They never were in the wrong spot and they earned their keep and my paycheck.
Then-they sold:
Twist at the Legend Buttes Sale in Crawford, Ne where they always do a great job marketing for me and finding the perfect home for my best boy.
Bueno, who I sold privately to the Sorenson family here around home. I very much appreciate their business and am honored they chose my horse for their kids to learn on.
Also pictured are the horses who will never leave here Lenny and Swayzee. Lenny packed Conley around while he recovered from his foot surgery and Connor’s dad when he came to visit. Swayzee will always be my coolest and most dependable mount.
Sloan should’ve sold this spring but didn’t, and she has proven herself.
I’m very lucky to get to live this kind of life and thankful for all the support I have. I hope this post provided some insight into the kind of horse you’ll have when you support my business! 🫶🏻
