Oliver is a 10-12 year old Lab mix that weighs around 60 lbs. Oliver’s story is absolutely heartbreaking💔 . Oliver was found by Animal Control completely abused and neglected by his owners. Oliver had been living on a chain outdoors with no human interaction. When Animal Control found him, he was skin and bones, covered in mange, and could barely walk. The vet said Oliver’s quality of life was so poor that he was near death.
Animal control pressed charges against the owner and were able to keep Oliver and get him back to health while they awaited a trial. At the recent trial, the owner surrendered Oliver to the Humane Society and the judge stated that he could now be adopted and find a loving home. Animal Control contacted our rescue to see if we could help and of course we took him in.
One of our dedicated rescuers was able to get Oliver back up to weight, walking again, and on the road to full recovery. Oliver is the sweetest and most loving boy, who follows our rescuer everywhere and just wants so badly to be loved. He is a bit hard of hearing due to the mange causing scarring in his ear, and has some spots on his body where his hair is still growing back. For the first few days, when she attempted to give him a milk bone, Oliver would back away and begin to shake. With a lot of love and encouragement, his daily milk bone time is now his favorite part of the day! He sits and wags his tail excitedly as he awaits his treat.
Oliver is now officially in our rescue’s care and we want nothing more than to find him a forever home where he will get all of the love he never received, but so very much deserves. This amazing boy is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Oliver is up to date on his vaccinations and neutered.
