As you were starting to wind down for the night, ours and Miss Hedy's night was just starting up... ❤️🐾

After a long night, Miss Hedy went into labor and delivered 10 puppies.

Our hearts are full because 8 beautiful puppies are here with us today...6 boys and 2 girls. 💙💙💙💙💙💙🩷🩷

Our hearts are also heavy for the two little boys we lost.

One sweet baby was stillborn. Our amazing whelping doulas did everything they could, performing CPR and trying to revive him for more than 40 minutes. We are so grateful for their compassion, skill, and determination.

Another little boy was born with a severe abdominal wall defect that left organs exposed. Our founder immediately rushed him to the emergency veterinary hospital, hoping there was something that could be done. After examining him, the veterinary team determined that his injuries were simply too extensive, with too many organs damaged for surgery to be possible. The kindest gift we could give him was a peaceful goodbye.

Trigger warning: We will be sharing very tender videos of our founders singing and talking to this sweet little boy during his final moments. While heartbreaking, it is also a beautiful reminder that he knew nothing but love and comfort for the short time he was here.

Through it all, Miss Hedy has been an absolute rockstar. She has settled in with her babies and is already proving to be a wonderful mama. She and her puppies are being closely monitored, getting lots of check-ins, and receiving all the love and care they need.

Today, we're celebrating the eight little lives who are snuggled up with their mama while also remembering the two who left us far too soon.

Thank you to everyone who has followed Hedy's journey and kept her in your thoughts. We can't wait to watch these little ones grow over the next several weeks.

AND BIG thank you to for coming in clutch with the whelping box, supplies, and lending a hand last night to help our new volunteer doulas become comfortable. We appreciate you so much!

Welcome to the world, little ones. We're so glad you're here. ❤️🐾

The wait is over, puppies are officially on the way!

Mama is doing an amazing job as she welcomes her little ones into the world. We're making sure she has a quiet, safe place to rest and all the love and support she needs while she focuses on her babies.

We can't wait to share updates as this precious family grows!

💜 Leave some well wishes for this sweet mama in the comments, and tell us how many puppies do you think she'll have by the time she's finished?

🚨 WE GOT HER! 🚨
We saw many, many of your comments and tags about an injured dog wandering around Knight Arnold Road. After 48 hours of searching and trapping, this sweet girl is finally safe with Streetdog Foundation! She’s beat up...eye, skin, and tail issues...but her fight isn’t over.

We learned from neighbors that she was left behind months ago along with two other dogs when their family moved. We refuse to leave her pack-mates behind, but we need your support to rescue them too. Stay tuned for future updates on this little pack and ways you can help. 🐾❤️

MAJOR THANK YOU to Jim Davila for trapping her!!!! We couldn't have done it without you!!!

Meet Odysseus, or Odie for short. ❤️

You’d never guess This big ole puppy has already been through so much, because all he wants to do is play, make friends, and soak up every bit of love he can get!

Odie is about 1 to 1.5 years old and currently weighs in at a whopping 88 pounds! He was found wandering near a boat ramp in Piperton with no microchip, and despite attempts, we’ve been unable to figure out where this big guy came from or locate his owners.

When he was found, he was covered in ticks, had a few spots of missing hair on his head and ear, and wasn’t putting weight on one of his legs. The good news is he’s heartworm negative, now neutered, microchipped, and safe!

X-rays showed a growth plate injury, but our veterinarians are optimistic that with a few weeks of medical management, he can heal without surgery and should have no long term effects.

Odie is kid friendly, dog friendly, and we’re still learning how he feels about cats.

His care has already included exams, X-rays, neuter surgery, vaccines, medications, and ongoing medical management for his leg. If you’d like to help cover the cost of giving this gentle giant the fresh start he deserves, we’d be so grateful for a donation at the link below. Every dollar helps pups like Odie get the care they need.

Welcome to the Streetdog family, Odie. We think your next chapter is going to be a good one. 🐾

Meet Oyinda, one of our amazing SDF volunteers, and her former foster Flash! 🐾❤️

We get asked a lot of questions about fostering and volunteering for Streetdog, so we wanted to answer some of the most common ones here! First, what is the difference between short-term and long-term fostering?

Short-term fostering is ideal if you can only commit for a few days or weeks. Generally, this means filling in when a long-term foster isn’t available or has to go out of town. If you’re not able to or sure about committing to long-term fostering, this is a great way to test the waters!

Long-term fostering means opening your home to a dog until they’re adopted. This could be a few weeks or several months, depending on the dog’s needs. Long-term fosters help dogs adjust to life in a home, learn routines, and build the confidence they need to find their forever family.

Whether you can help for a weekend or several months, every foster home saves lives by giving a dog a safe place to stay and making room for another dog to enter our rescue. We’re so grateful to volunteers like Oyinda—and to every foster who helps us give dogs the second chance they deserve. 💜💛 If you’ve been considering fostering, we’d love to hear from you. You can apply to foster short or long term on our website, streetdogfoundation.com.

✨🍿🎬 Hedy Lamarr update: let the puppy counting commence!! 🎬🍿✨

Miss Hedy has LOTS of good news to share with everyone.

1. She scored a foster home!! One of our long-time volunteers was willing to open up her back house for Hedy and her soon-to-be puppies. As you can see from the pictures, Hedy already looks soooo much happier being out of boarding and in a space of her own. Just look at that smile!!

2. She got lil hamburger to make sure her puppies grow up big and strong!! She wants to remind everyone that a burgie a day keeps the doctor away 🍔 (Hedy is not a medical doctor, please don’t take her advice)

3. She got an x-ray, which means it’s puppy counting time! Anyone think they can guess how many puppies are in there?? Drop your guess in the comments!! (Hint: try and count the spines)

All puppies and Hedy seem to be doing great, and we think she is probably due within the next two weeks. Get ready for some puppy content!
