ISO: suitable mount for an adaptive riding program/lesson program

Ideal horse will be:
-around 15 hands (open to bigger or smaller)
-safe, sane, patient and forgiving
-at least serviceably sound
-we have a beginner safe horse, but need a step up for more consistent trotting and learning to canter
-Lower budget with some flexibility for the right horse

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved lesson horse, Jack.

To know Jack was to immediately fall in love with him. He had the biggest personality, you couldn’t help but to smile and laugh while around him. Lovingly known as the potato, he was the best therapy horse. He loved his job and his people more than anything. He knew he was a king and demanded to be treated as such. We all happily paid the treat tax.

I’m grateful for the past three and a half years we got to spend together; he was the biggest blessing to us. I’d come to the barn after a hard day at work and he’d immediately remind me why I do what I do. Together we helped make dreams come true, changed lives and delivered endless smiles. I’ve never seen a horse fight so hard to stay; he went out a brave warrior.

We love you endlessly and you will be missed beyond measure. We will carry on your legacy and make sure you’re always remembered for the best boy that you were.

We love you buddy❤️

Jack update:

Cornell called back with an update, he’s doing well with the aggressive approach they’re using to try to get things moving. Not much change with the impaction but he’s bright and still eager to fight. His whole vet team says he’s the best patient and they’re all falling in love with him.

Looking through old videos today and found this one with Jack instigating and picking on the biggest horse on the farm. What he lacks in height he makes up for in personality and charm.

Keep fighting buddy, we miss you💙

🚨Urgent help needed🚨

We’re on day 7 of this fight. Jack is not ready to give up and neither are the vets. They’ve recommended we take him to Cornell and believe there’s a shot he can make it through this with the right support. I’ve never seen a horse with more drive to fight and survive.

Any support no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated. Please share so our beloved Jack can get the help he needs.

I don’t quite have the words to describe this weekend. Every so often we’re gifted a life changing, truly beautiful experience. This weekend was one of those times. We ventured to the Special Olympics New York State Fall Games in Glens Falls. We’ve had a great season training and we got to watch everything come together!

What a truly moving experience to be welcomed by a community of athletes and coaches. Everyone cheers for each other and celebrates with their fellow athletes no matter the team or region. We all share a common goal: to help individuals who have been told they can’t, prove that they can do anything they put their heart and mind to.

I am beyond proud of our Athlete Virginia for how far she’s come this season and the sportsmanship and kindness she shows to everyone around her. My heart is full and I’m thankful to be on this journey. Here’s to next season!
