Nothing bugs me more than deleting my own posts....lol.

So, as Shinto aged, Fred and Julie reached out about another puppy. They were excited to add a new pup. I had a related litter planned out of Gafa x Lygur. On a beautiful Dec day, Fred and I met at the airport hotel. Fred was kind enough to photograph the entire litter. He flew home with Runie. Rune was an easier pup than Shinto, by design. Of course he had his own issues, but the family navigated them beautifully. Shinto served as a teacher of sorts and the two developed a friendship.

Its funny how things turn out. Rune missed Shinto. Julie reached out to ask about the last litter. But the pups were all sold at that point. We had discussed other options and were looking at the next litter as well. Without warning, Griffins pending sale fell through and an opportunity was created. I reached out and I swear within hours Freds flight was booked. The excitement was palpable. Again, something every breeder LOVES in their families. Fred met Jamie in Cinci and Griffin became a CA resident. Griffin would prove to be the easiest of their 3 pups. He has also become a new muse for Fred. I speak to "IT" factor quite a bit. What I believe now is that BOTH Shinto and Griffin carry the factor. Both were able to command the camera. I always new some dogs were photogenic, but this is both an excellent photographer and personality that jump off the page. Its going to be a blast watching Fred chronically Rune and Griffins life. First is Rune and littermates...Tomorrow will be Rune and finally Griffin on Sunday. Once again, thank you Fred for the wonder pictures. Next week I will update with current photos on Griffin and his littermates.....including THE FEEBS.

So, this is my neighbor. Matt is a hunting and fishing guide who raises hunting dogs. I met him a decade ago when my Monkey and Dakota decided to "run" to his house MILES away. He contained them in his hunting boxes on the truck and kept them safe. He often trails injured game and local lost dogs. He uses drones and dogs with amazing success. This was a serious ice storm and that area is treacherous. THIS DOG wasn't part of the pair of GSD he was searching to find. He found those as well.

So, Valhalla suffered a loss of many original dogs the last two years. One of those dogs was California native Shinto who was lovingly owned by Julie and Fred. Shinto was a TINY puppy and a handful. So, who better to adopt him than my family friend Julie....lol. Fred fell as in love with the breed as Julie! Shinto became Freds muse and was photographed extensively! He would end up being the first of 3 Valhalla pups for them. Shinto would bring Rune along as his shadow....and even as an old man, he showed grace and tolerance for young Rune. They have a new acquisition named Griffin now, so history repeats itself again. More on those two later.

I wanted to post an album of Fred's stunning Shinto photos. Shinto, went EVERYWHERE with his people. Owners with their dedication are what makes a breeders dreams come true. Please enjoy Shinto....because as the sun sets on our breeds founding US litters in AKC, the sun rises on the future with their relatives. I just wanted to look back at Shintos life to honor this dog and this family. Thank you Fred and Julie. PS..."TINY" Shinto turned out to be nearly 40lbs. First lesson on tiny puppies...lol

So this weekend I travelled to see the wicked smart pups! We did nature walk today and covered porch yesterday. They got their "equipment" and due to awesome potty training, A MUCH LARGER LIVING AREA. Phoebe responds to her name. Outside, Lyra leads the group followed by Griffin....and then comes Gambit the Great! This little guy stole the day with my excited puppy voice...."no running, TROT." WHICH HE DID. ROFL. Brillant or coincidence? OF COURSE ITS BRILLIANCE. ITS GAMBIT

Oh its Day 12 and it belongs to Lyra. This little girl is a pistol. I'm very taken with her. Her eyes are beginning to open and LOOK OUT. She is on the move.

Today is Gambit Day. Just 11 days old. Eyes will be opening on the litter soon! They will go from potato to puppy soon
