Let’s talk about squished faces! 🐶
Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome or BOAS occurs in breeds such as Shihtzus, Frenchies, Bullies, Bulldogs, and Persian cats.🐈
We see A LOT of these breeds in the valley, where it is super hot! ☀️
The pushed in face usually comes along with an elongated soft palette and Stenotic Nares.
This can affect our pets breathing, and even put them at greater risk for heat stroke.
Dr. Ramirez performs both Elongated soft palette AND stenotic nares surgery using CO2 Laser technology. With our CO2 laser we are able to minimize bleeding, swelling, and discomfort, as well as reduce the risk for infection and shorten anesthesia time.

It is Receptionist Appreciation Week!! 🐾
Regardless of the day, we are ALWAYS appreciative of our office staff. They have a tough job that can consist of juggling 20 tasks AND 20 clients at once. 🤹🏻‍♀️
We thought it would also be a great time to remind everyone that they are just doing their job!
Protocols, rules, laws are in place for a reason and our receptionists help to be sure that things run smoothly and accordingly to protocol. We all only want the best for our furry friends! We ask that when you visit us you please keep it in mind how awesome our front staff is and how much they have on their plates!
