Have you ever had those small moments that don't last long enough, but make your whole day?

That happened for me yesterday. ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿค

Leonard Barron, from Ember's "B" litter came to visit on his way to Ohio! Leonard and Huck share the same dad, Ivan, and are the same height!
I got emotional seeing him in person, almost 3 years later. He has Embers face, and it was just like having an oversized version of her in the house. He was even eyeing down all the food on the counter, and trying to steal the ๐Ÿ• from the kids plates! ๐Ÿ˜‚
There is one dog out of every litter that I wish I would have kept, and this dog is it. He is breathtakingly handsome, incredibly sweet, and a dream to be around. Even if the thunder was scaring him.๐ŸŒฉ๏ธ
I'm so thankful for his owners, and for welcoming such a special dog into their home, and giving him all the love and treats he deserves (and demands๐Ÿ˜†) Y'all have done an amazing job with him. ๐Ÿ‘
I cannot explain how thankful I am for all the owners that have welcomed my dogs into their homes. Please know that I've been blessed by all of you. ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿค

Whenever I was first sent the photos of Everest and Juniper's litter, I was immediately drawn to Everest. I couldn't explain it, but I loved everything about her.
Thankfully I had first pick of the girls, and didn't have to take much some deciding on the little "Red" girl.

At first, she was just another puppy. As she started growing up, I noticed a few little things she did were just like Ember, and it made me smile. A few times, I would call her, and she looked just like Ember did, trotting across the bridge from the barn to the house.

Now, the resemblance is uncanny. Everest is so smart. She picks up on things immediately. She likes to go exploring, but comes right back. Her little burying her head between my legs when it's time for the blow-dryer. The gentle nudge, resting her head on my leg, right between her eyes and nose, asking for some scratches the same. Her gentleness with my daughter, letting her pick at every nook and cranny of her face. Her even facial markings make me do a double take every time. How she always tucks a front paw under when she lays down. Or throws herself into the craziest positions to sleep.
Now, she loves to come for the little face scratches when I'm sitting down, taking a break..

Thank goodness, she didn't inherit Embers annoying "I need to potty" yap! ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ˜„

In the craziness of life, these dogs bring me so much joy.
Ember Lynne, you will never be replaced. You'll always be that extra special heart dog. But thank you for sending me the next best thing, a little mini-me, Everest Joy.

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our Sage. ๐Ÿ’”

This girl was born in our living room, raised with our family on our little farm, spent so many hours in the creek and beside me on my horse, trail riding the mountains.
She was a special, quirky dog. She did not like people disrupting her home or her property, always on the alert. She hated leaving our house, but loved a good car ride. She was horrible on the leash, could not be crated, and loved teaching the young 4H goats how to walk on a halter by nipping their heels, and sticking a cold nose right in their behind.
As a puppy, she was miserable. She was so sneaky and would duck around the corner, p*e, and never alert she had to go. We had so many wet socks from her. She wasn't allowed in the bathroom, because of the amount of tissues she would eat. She loved chewing the sleeves off of our sweatshirts and the shoelaces off our work boots. Pooping out the shoe laces was always a show: she would get scared of this long thing coming out of her butt, then start running blind through the yard with a shoelace flying behind her.
She was a pain. She was crazy, anxious, and alert. But she was ours. She watched our home like a hawk. She had actually attacked a rabid raccoon running through the yard, biting it, shaking it and throwing it though the air.
She was ours. She watched our kids, our animals and home. She always knew when someone was here, alerting all of us.

It's hard to believe she was the last of our original trio: Ember, Timber and Sage. We buried her in her favorite place, out back in the woods. This property was hers, and she guarded it seriously. It seemed fitting she be laid to rest here.

Rest in peace sweet Duffer. ๐Ÿ’” You will never be forgotten. Till we see you again. ๐Ÿ’œ

Wow, what a difference 1 whole year can make! (1.5 years old vs. 7 months) But still such a handsome ham bone. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐ŸฉตEverest and ๐Ÿ’œJuniper go to VBS @ Thompsontown Baptist Church!
They were such a huge hit, and I'm so proud of the girls. They handled all the commotion and noise easily, especially when treats were needed for extra encouragement. They learned that shiny tile floors are slippy and hard to walk on, and you cannot walk through glass doors. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

But the biggest thing Everest and Juniper learned was Psalms 23.๐Ÿž๏ธ One of my personal favorite passages of the Bible. I actually learned this at summer camp, and I've never forgotten it.

PSALMS 23:
The Lord is my Shepherd
I shall not want.
He makes mt lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me on paths of righteousness for His name sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For you are with me.
Your rod and your staff the comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You annoint my head with oil, my cup over flows.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen.

Y'all, GOD LOVES YOU! HE CARES FOR YOU!!! He wants to have a personal relationship with YOU!! Heaven is real, and He wants you to live with Him forever! I want that for you too.

In effort of sharing my dogs online with all of you, I hope you take away the most important message I can share with you: Jesus. โœ๏ธ
I'd love to share Him with you, and tell you all the many things He has done for me and the places He has brought me through.

So ๐ŸฉตEverest๐Ÿฉต learned a new trick....๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
The girl won't walk across a walking bridge, but being up on the table is a cakewalk. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜†

Everest and Juniper took on Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg PA yesterday! ๐ŸŽข
Other than the vet visits ๐Ÿ’‰and short trips to TSC, this was their first big outing! The girls handled all the noise and commotion and attention with ease!
We found out that Everest is scared of walking bridges, so we have something to work on!
The girls came home very tired, after 2hrs in the car, and almost 8 hours at the park! ๐Ÿ˜ด I couldn't be more proud of them..

Knoebels was full of school age kids as part of their sale, and I was thoroughly impressed by all the kids asking for permission to let the girls first!!! Every single person that touched the girls had asked for permission first! I found it so encouraging, especially after seeing so many videos online of things going wrong.
So parents, if your kids were at Knoebels yesterday you're doing an excellent job of teaching your children to ask first!!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I love how dogs bring people together. So if you stopped to say hello yesterday, we loved meeting you! Thank you for taking time out of your day to say hello, meet the girls, and chat! I loved every minute of it! ๐Ÿ’–
