Resolute K-9 is going on vacation! ☀️🐾

Just a reminder that there will be no classes the next two weekends.
I’ll be leaving tomorrow and returning on the 26th, and we will be back open for business that day.
I’m leaving my work phone at home, so I will not be answering calls or messages while I’m away. I’ll begin responding to all messages when I return starting on the 26th, and we will be back open for business that day as well.

Counter conditioning takes time, patience, and consistency. When we first started with Milo, simply picking up his leash would send him running the other direction. If you managed to get the leash on, he would flatten himself to the floor and completely shut down.
Now, 5 weeks later, with his owners putting in the work during lessons and staying consistent with their homework, Milo is excited to gear up for walks and adventures with his pawrents including trips to the beach! 🌊🐾
Progress like this doesn’t happen overnight, but with teamwork and trust, it absolutely happens. So proud of Milo and his family for all the hard work they’ve put in. ❤️

Happy 3rd Birthday to Cyra 🎉🖤
Three years of drive, loyalty, and always pushing me to be better. Watching her work never gets old off leash obedience, strong place command at a distance, solid recall, and a clean call to heel. The little details matter, and she gives everything 100%.
She’s more than just my dog she’s my partner and a huge reason behind everything I do. Happy Birthday, Cyra 🐾

Letting your dog make a mistake isn’t failing them it’s how they learn.
In this clip, my leash stays loose. I’m not holding her in position or forcing the heel. She has the freedom to make a choice… and when she chooses wrong, I step in with fair, clear guidance to show her what is correct.
That’s how understanding is built. Not by micromanaging every step, but by giving them the opportunity to learn and then showing them the right answer.
Clear communication > constant control.

New Basic Obedience class is officially underway 🐾
This group is starting with the foundations building engagement, learning how to truly focus around distractions, working on a solid sit, and beginning to understand a “free” command to introduce that automatic stay.
It might look simple, but this is where everything starts to come together. Clear communication, consistency, and teaching these dogs how to think instead of just react.
Can’t wait to watch this group grow each week 🤍

Some puppies pick things up quickly… and some take a little extra time and that’s okay 🤍
“Down” can be a tough one in the beginning, but with patience, consistency, and meeting the puppy where they’re at, it starts to click. Progress doesn’t happen by rushing, it happens by building trust and keeping things positive.
Our new puppy classes just kicked off, and this is exactly what we focus on working through the struggles together so you and your pup can succeed as a team 🐾
