After puppy class today, Sally wanted to show me her new frisbee and beach chair. I think she was trying to tell me she rather be soaking up the dog days of summer rather than going to “summer school.” 🤣

Shout out to our spring puppies for completing the Positive Puppy Program. 🎓🙌

It’s incredible to see how much they have grown in their confidence and resilience from 8 weeks to now 15-17 weeks. Every dog and puppy we work with is so special to us. It’s not joking when a dog trainer says their dog students keep them up at night sometimes. 🤣✨

😳 TICKS are wild this year—who’s dealing with them already?!

If you’ve found one... or two... or more on your pup lately, this is your sign to SAVE this post so you can use it later. ⚠️

📍 Where Ticks Lurk (yes, even in the city):
🌿 Tall grass & woodlands
🏙️ Urban parks & backyard gardens
🦌 Anywhere with wildlife like deer, rabbits, etc.

Even sidewalk-only dogs aren’t 100% safe 👀

🛡️ How to Actually Protect Your Dog:

✅ Use a vet-recommended tick preventative
✅ Do daily tick checks—especially ears, paws, armpits & neck
✅ Remove ticks with a tick tool—no twisting or squeezing!
✅ Got questions? Your vet is the best resource in your back pocket!

✨ A little spotlight on a couple of Raise The Woof students I wanted to share. 👇

One thing I love about dog training is the community it builds. This past fall, I worked with a Sheltie named Cardi. Her mom and I have continued our relationship with updates on life and Cardi’s training progress.

Fast forward to this spring—I received a client intake form for another Sheltie named Mollie, who lives in the same city as Cardi, and actually less than five minutes from each other!!! 😮 Naturally, I assumed Cardi’s mom must have referred me and was friends with this fellow Sheltie. But when I asked Mollie’s mom if she knew Cardi, she didn’t—though she was very interested in setting up a playdate. With permission, I shared contact info with both moms.

Last week, I received this photo and a wonderful message letting me know the two moms and their Shelties had a meet-up—and everyone had a blast. It’s just so cool to see how this small business can be supportive and help dog guardians connect and grow. 🥹

Moments like these remind me why I started Raise The Woof—and reignites the fire 🔥 to keep going, to keep helping more dogs and their amazing, dedicated guardians. 💚
