To be a voice for domestic rabbits by providing education, resources, shelter, and homes where they will thrive.

2025: We have expanded to a few guinea pigs, bearded drag

ons, and birds. A Note From the President:
I want to help share the love and education of bunnies by being the voice for my late Oscar Henry McPickles. Although I have put together a lot of information and will continue to provide education and resources, I am not a vet. A rabbit savvy vet is essential in the care of your rabbit. Oscar came into my life completely unexpectedly after being found outside in rough shape. At the time I knew absolutely nothing about rabbits. I learned quickly, but unfortunately lost him 4 months later to what I can only assume to have been GI stasis (will never know for sure). Since that time, I research/learn daily about rabbit care and needs as they are delicate animals with much to know that many are unaware of. Although I knew a lot, I did not know enough, and feel it may have led to overlooking signs/symptoms that my boy was in trouble, likely giving him veggies that could have caused the issue, etc. (amongst other complications and learning lessons, including where to vet a rabbit). Since that time, I continue to learn and put in the time to do the best I can for every bun that comes into my life. Each one finds a place in my heart, and I hope to do best for them, first medically, and then by placing into homes that we screen and hope to be best for each bun’s unique personality & situation. To honor Oscar, I want his voice heard through spreading the love of rabbits (buns) and through education. This area is misunderstood and help for rabbits is lacking in Wisconsin.

In honor of our beloved Harley Rae who we lost on Christmas Day — We have taken in a special little girl that needs a lot of TLC and will most likely be a sanctuary bun with us. Raeyna was found as a stray during a very cold week. She arrived to a humane society with nasal congestion and eye drainage. She was transferred to a larger humane society for medical care and spay. During spay they found numerous lumps along her mammory chain. Good news is that there is no cancer in her lungs at this time (most common place for cancer to spread if she has cancer).

Raeyna is also estimated to be older in age and is skinny.

We will continue her medications and attempt to get her to gain weight while awaiting to hear from our vet.

We will be looking at bonding her to our partially blind little Alfie boy. Both of them need a friend.

Poor Hatfield has had several months of no one interested in him despite being such a fun and loving boy. He loves to binky, chill, and hang out with his foster family in the living room. His potty habits are exceptional. He does well with kids and a noisy house.

Hatfield is neutered.

Although his foster family adores him, please help us find him his forever family.

Luna has been waiting several months to hop into her forever home. She is a big girl with a big personality. Luna is a docile Rex rabbit, but she C also likes to play. She has velvet fur and is a big love. She loves throwing around baby keys and going through tunnels. She’s also figured out a few treat puzzles.

Luna is spayed, vaccinated for RHDV2, and uses her litter box well.

Koa is Officially Adoptable!
Koa has been medically cleared and is ready to find his forever home!

Koa has some MBD, but he gets around very well. He was quite sick with coccidia and a respiratory infection upon arrival. He underwent several months of medical care and aggressive treatments with us, and he almost didn't survive. We are so happy to share that he is now doing very well and has received a clean (negative) p**p sample!

He will require continued daily feedings as he is very small, yet. Calcium supplements and the correct UVB (and more), along with tank set up, are critical and required. Vet follow up early and as needed is also crucial.

Are you Koa’s special person that will help him grow, stay healthy, and feel loved?

Adopt him today:

Imagine a tiny beardie, sick and scared, sitting alone in a tank at a pet store. You see it, your heart aches, and you decide to “rescue” it. 💔

But here’s the truth no one talks about: the moment that little life leaves, another baby is brought in — another tiny dragon destined for the same neglect, the same struggle, the same heartbreak.

Quite often, it’s people with the best intentions who step in, but with little knowledge about proper care. Sadly, this can make things worse, leaving the dragon even more vulnerable.

“Rescuing” beardies from breeders or pet stores doesn’t save them — it just keeps the cycle going. Real change happens when we choose adoption, rescue, or ethical breeders who put animal welfare first. That’s how we give them a real chance at life. 🐉💛

*Edit*
We are not pointing the finger at all pet stores, some are amazing! It’s the ones who don’t do the right thing and get enabled by what we have written above.

While many new year resolutions today are to lose weight, our Koa & Freya continue to gain weight and we are so proud!

Koa has been slowly gaining weight. With how sick he was (we almost him) this is not a surprise. He is up to 52 grams from 25 grams when he arrived almost 3 months ago.

Freya was also sick and arrived 3 months ago at 23 grams. She is up to 242 grams!.

They are both doing very well.

2025 has been a huge year of expansion in both animal types and numbers of pets helped. We are still primarily a rabbit rescue, but we have also started taking in some other small animals at times.

2022-2024 numbers averaged 30 per year compared to 107 this year!

In 2025 we were able to rescue 107 small animals in need. These animals had been abused, neglected, abandoned, or dumped. Several had been sick, and a majority needed spay/neuter. All deserved a chance at a good life.

We are able to continue doing this because of your support (foster care, donations, transportation, etc.)!
