If you have been with me for a few years, you may remember that 4 years or so ago, I quickly became suddenly, extremely sick. I felt poisoned and within 2 days, could not walk or lift my weight to barely get off the bed. I ended up having severe liver damage and have never really fully recovered. It was never determined exactly what had happened. It was speculated that it was Covid that damaged my liver making it unable to filter bad things from my blood and in turn, I had been getting cortisone shots for pain. so possible cortisone poisoning but who knows. Well fast forward to now. I am fighting that same weakness in my leg and arm muscles, being weak, struggling to do one stair step at a time, and in pain along with it. I had an MRI this week that showed severe disc bulging, severe narrowing, a pinched nerve etc... I had messed up blood work with extremely low blood glucose levels as well as the liver tests that are always messed up! I can't stand to do any orders at this point. It took me a week start to finish to get my last order done and I was worried it wasn't going to get done. In 11 years I have never not completed an order and I didn't want that to happen now. It is done and going out in the mail tomorrow and even though it isn't for an original 11 year customer, it is for a very long time regular customer. You all should know Marcia's adorable 3 little golden doodles, Harvey, Oliver, and Everly. This is for Oliver's 8th birthday and I am so happy to have made so many for these cuties and all my other precious pups over the years. With a heavy heart, I must let you know that I just can't continue taking orders as the chances of getting them finished is slim. I do wonder if the quality would suffer too, I expect it would and that would be heartbreaking to know I did not do my best by you all.
I have loved every minute of this though. My FB groups will stay up so feel free to stay in touch! I truly hope you do! I will be selling everything to run this same business just as I have in case you know anyone who has the time, ability, and wants to be self employed. In a nut shell, it truly is everything anyone needs with no outlay for supplies for months minus one item. I am very low on the foam that I use to form the hat cone shape. That is bought like a bolt of fabric and is inexpensive. I have an embroidery machine, tons of thread, hundreds of yards of the solid fabrics, all my computer designs and fonts (thousands), hat trims for boys (chenille huge case of it,) girls maribou feathers ( 2 tote fulls,), pop poms, templates, crown glitter foam all colors, on and on... they would need a sewing machine ( I use an inexpensive Brother), an ironing board and iron. This was a 20-35K a year business before I slowed down 4 years ago. It absolutely can easily be that again. I have over $10,000.00 in inventory and am firm at $3000.00. It would be worth it to me to only deal with one person taking it all since I don't feel the best so am deeply discounting if anyone wants to give it a go. It would require coming to Iowa to get it and bringing boxes as I am not selling my totes that it is all stored in. would need a van or larger SUV to haul.
Anyway, I am going to be selling everything on Marketplace within a week or so, so pass it on if you know anyone.
I wanted to let you know immediately so you can hunt your next great bandana maker. I hope you all find someone you are thrilled with (as long as they aren't better than I was! LOL) Only kidding!
There are some pups who you owner's know that I am in love with and I hope to be in the loop with them and their birthdays or an occasional picture. I love you all so much. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of decorating your babies all these years. Janet
