We Need Our Community More Than Ever
Every day, our phone rings with the same heartbreaking calls:
“I found kittens, can you take them?”
“There’s a cat in my yard that just had babies...”
“I started feeding a stray and it needs a good home.”

We understand. It’s painful to see cats and kittens outside, knowing they’d be happier and safer in homes. We feel that same heartbreak.

But the truth is, our rescue is full and our waitlist currently reaches June 2026. We’re still absorbing the aftershock of the Humane Society of Carbondale’s closure, and it has deeply affected every rescue and shelter in our region.

That’s why we want to talk about TNR—Trap, Neuter, Return.

TNR means humanely trapping community cats, getting them spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returning them to their outdoor homes where they are cared for. It prevents more litters, reduces suffering, and allows healthy cats to live out their lives safely without continuing the cycle of overpopulation.

When every shelter and foster home is full, TNR is often the only responsible choice.
Here’s how you can help, because you don’t need to run a rescue to make a difference:
If you’re feeding outdoor cats, get them fixed.
If you have a spare room, consider fostering.
If you have a car and a few hours, help with transport.
Share posts, spread education, and support local TNR programs and rescues.
If you can, donate $5! Simple supplies and every single dollar matters.

Our community can be the difference between ongoing struggle and real change.

We want to give a huge thank you to Cats of Carbondale, Herrin Feline Fixers, and the single community members who take on their neighborhoods alone for their tireless efforts to make TNR possible in our area. They are doing incredible work to help control the cat population humanely, and they deserve all the community support they can get!

Have you met Gypsy?!??!?

This sweet girl is looking for a special home. She was dumped on our property almost a year ago and has decided recently that she is no longer feral.

She loves to rub on your legs and would be happy being an indoor/outdoor kitty.

Stop by tomorrow from 10am-4pm to meet her.

Would anyone be able to open their home for Buddy?

Buddy is a 3-year-old Boxer. His family describes him as friendly, energetic, and playful. Buddy loves to play fetch, go for car rides, and be part of the action. He is housebroken and crate-trained, gets along well with other dogs, and adores children.

Buddy would thrive in a home that has time for outdoor activity and space for him to run. He has lived mostly indoors, sleeps in bed with his people, and enjoys being close to his family. He is a larger dog, around 60–90 pounds, and is already neutered.

We are seeking a foster, foster-to-adopt, or adopter for Buddy. If you love active dogs and have room for a fun-loving companion, Buddy would be a great match.

Our rescue cannot bring him into care without a foster home. If you can help or would like to meet Buddy, please private message us.
