When people say their children are great with dogs, there is so much left up to interpretation. As a pet sitter and mother, I considered it my duty to teach our son dog-sense. He knows to ask first before petting any dog. If given the ok, he proceeds slowly saying β€œhi” and holding out the back of his hand for the dog to sniff. Once he has gotten the dog’s approval, he pets gently and talks in a calm voice. We have taught him never to put his face in any dog’s face and he is learning how to read cues as well. So when I say Logan is great with dogs, this is what I meanπŸ’› This is also why I will always ask my clients if their dogs like children. The feeling has to be mutual.

My most recent client has an amazingly sweet Doodle named Fiona who walks off leash and under voice command. Because of this, I was able to have Logan practice his dog-walking skills. Fiona is a wonderful teacher. They make a wonderful teamπŸ₯Ή

What a busy week our little host, Pippin, has had. As a 7 month old puppy, he has a ton of energy and love to give. So much zest for life. He loves when we have overnight guests in our home. He spent the last few days playing with a sweet doodle puppy named Jefferson. He also welcomed our sweet client Coco over for a little evening visit so she could have some more socialization (she is one of our check-ins).

Watching Pippin experience so much joy meeting our new friends has really helped soothe that ache I still have for Watson. Thankful for our little guy.πŸ’›
