MISSING FROM BELPRE, OHIO May 24th update
Hudson, also known as Huddy Bear, has now been missing for 8 days. He was last seen Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 3:30 PM from the 700 block of 5th Street in Belpre, Ohio.
A REWARD HAS BEEN OFFERED for information that leads to Hudson's safe return.
WE REMAIN OPTIMISTIC
We have good reason to believe Hudson is still out there. Multiple eyewitnesses saw him escape out a lower window at the back of the home and head toward the tree line, and a thorough search of the home turned up no sign that he stayed behind. Hudson made it out. We are confident of that.
What we have not had, despite an intensive local search, is a single confirmed sighting of Hudson in the immediate area. We covered that ground hard, with a thermal drone flight, baited cameras running around the clock, yard signs, flyers, and the WTAP story. The quiet tells us something useful. Hudson has most likely either traveled beyond the neighborhood or, just as likely, been taken in by someone who has no idea he is a missing dog.
That is where this case turns hopeful, and it is where you come in.
HIS MICROCHIP IS THE KEY
Hudson is microchipped and his family has a lost pet alert active. If he is scanned at any shelter, vet office, or rescue within a 50-mile radius, his family is notified right away. We are also getting his flyer into the hands of shelters, vets, and rescues across a wider region.
CASE DETAILS
Hudson is a 9 year old neutered male Shih Tzu. He is grey, brown, and white with tan highlights and a slightly darker face. He stands about 12 to 14 inches tall and weighs around 20 pounds. He has a blue tattoo from his neuter and crooked bottom teeth. He is shy and timid, especially after everything he has been through.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
If you have taken in, fed, or seen a small grey, brown, and white Shih Tzu anywhere since May 16, please have him scanned for a microchip at any vet or shelter, or reach out to us. No questions asked. We just want Hudson home.
If you live anywhere in the Mid-Ohio Valley or the surrounding counties, please share this post. The dog who turned up in your neighborhood, or your cousin's, or your coworker's, could be Hudson.
DO NOT CHASE. If you see him, do not approach, call out, or follow. Note the exact location and direction he is heading, then report it right away.
Report a sighting or send a tip to the PSA tip line at 740-206-8831 or at petsearchalliance.org. All tips are handled with discretion.
Please keep sharing. One scan, one phone call, one share could be the one that brings him home.
