April marks the one year anniversary of walking Caliber…the most mud-loving, water-seeking, somersaulting, country pup 🐶 So grateful for all the tail wags, weekly walks and hikes, and the peaceful moments shared. Looking forward to another year full of adventures with Caliber and pretending he doesn’t hear me when it’s time to go home and wash up😆😊

Spring is here, and you know what that means—vacation season is officially upon us🏖️☀️

This is the busiest time of year for pet sitters and the messages are already pouring in, so before it kicks into higher gear, let’s clear up a few things with a quick round of “True or False!”

1. True or False: A few weeks’ notice is enough to schedule my pet care during vacation season.

False ❎ Please keep in mind that some clients book as far as one year in advance. Pet sitting businesses can have anywhere from 50 to 500 clients 🤯 It’s never too early to reserve your spot!

2. True or False: I should book my vacation first and then call my pet sitter to arrange care.

False ❎ Please don’t do this! How can you be sure we’ll have availability? Always contact your sitter first to check availability before scheduling your trip📆

3. True or False: In-home pet care is way too expensive.

False ❎ In-home pet care is a luxury service, but think about all the benefits. We’re driving to and from your home multiple times a day, providing one-on-one time with your pets, and ensuring they’re comfortable in their own bed 🏡 Plus, your home is cared for—we water your plants, bring in the mail, take out the trash, and more. The peace of mind it offers is absolutely worth it!

4. True or False: All pet sitters are created equal.

False ❎ You’ve heard the saying, “you get what you pay for,” right? When it comes to your home and your pets’ safety, it’s crucial to hire a qualified pet sitter. Make sure they are fully insured, background-checked, trained in pet CPR & First Aid, and can provide references or reviews.

5. True or False: Pet sitters need time for themselves.

💯True ✅ We’re not robots—we need time with our families and our own pets too. And yes, we like to take weekends off from time to time. We always do our best to accommodate your needs, but please understand that just like anyone else, we can get burnt out too✌🏻🐾

My week in photos. Sunny dog walks and much needed cat cuddles.

The weight of unexpected losses within a short period of time has been difficult lately. This winter three sweet clients’ pets crossed the rainbow bridge within a few weeks of each other, and just this week I received another heartbreaking text. I get attached to those I care for, even if only briefly. As an empath, I deeply feel the pain my client experiences when they lose their pet. As most animal lovers do.

So today, I’m leaning into the quiet moments and letting sunshine and spring flowers work their magic🌈

I can’t get over how amazing it feels to be featured during Pet Sitters Appreciation Week!!!! Green Meadow Veterinary Hospital has been there for me and my pets for over 25 years, and I’m incredibly grateful for their care and support all these years.

We would now like to highlight Nola Juliano, owner of Cisler Tails Pet Care LLC – Pet Sitting & Dog Walking

I (Nola) officially launched my pet-sitting and dog-walking business in June of 2023, though my journey started long before that. For years, I helped friends and neighbors care for their pets as a hobbyist, and over time, it became clear that my passion for animals deserved to be more. That’s when I decided to turn my love for pets into an official business with proper licensing and insurance.

Cisler Tails Pet Care provides reliable and loving care for dogs and small animals in Marietta, Devola, and Williamstown. Whether it’s a daily dog walk or a weekend pet-sitting visit, the goal is to ensure my client’s pets feel safe, happy, and comfortable while their humans are away.

In October 2023, I became certified in Pet CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross and renewed my certification in February 2025 with Pet Emergency Education. Safety on walks and during home visits is crucial, and I take extra precautions to ensure my clients’ pets are always safe and secure under my care.

I began volunteering with Friends of the Forgotten Felines in November 2023 as a weekly feeder. When I have open slots in my day, I try to volunteer at the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley by walking dogs and loving on the cats.

When I’m not caring for pets, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and my senior dog, Dawson. I like to cook, and I love biking, hiking, gardening, and putting puzzles together in my downtime. Life is all about balance.

It dawned on me that one year ago this month, Sophie and Murphy became part of the Cisler Tails family! 🐾 Sophie and I go out on our walking adventures around town, while Murphy prefers to take it easy at home and then enjoy some yard time. 😎

Each day is filled with joyful greetings and wagging tails when I arrive. Sophie’s confidence has grown so much, and it’s amazing to witness her progress! We’ve cherished every moment together, whether it’s snowing, raining, or the sun is shining (though we definitely have a favorite weather!).

Here’s to many more adventures with these two silly and sweet souls! 💕

Friends of Forgotten Felines will be hosting a lunch fundraiser Wednesday, Feb 5th from 11am-2pm at the VFW post #5108, located on Pike Street in Marietta. Please share! Drop in for a meal or pick it up to go! All proceeds will go directly to help support our colony of fairground cats, and our low cost spay and neuter program! We hope to see you there!
