This famous image of what many think is the Lake Worth Monster was snapped in 1969 by Allen Plaster. Texas Goatman sightings during the summer of 1969 were rampant in the area, some locals saying that the creature was scratching cars and even jumping onto the roof of one vehicle. Looking back at the photos now, Plaster believes what he captured on film was merely teenage hi-jinks.

He was quoted as saying “Whatever it was, it wanted to be seen. That was a prank. That was somebody out there waiting for people to drive by. I don't think an animal would have acted that way.”

In 1977, a man in Kountze, Texas, reported seeing Bigfoot while dealing with car trouble late at night. Near the Old Hardin Cemetery, he spotted a tall, slender, hair-covered figure crossing the road.

Texas Cryptids
The Bear King of Marble Falls

The Bear King of Marble Falls is a legendary creature reportedly sighted in Marble Falls, Texas, in 1901. According to local accounts, it abducted a girl named Ramie Arland, who later escaped and described her captor as a "bear man."

Ramie had been tending sheep when she was taken, prompting a search party. She was found the next day, claiming the creature held her in a mountain cave and struck her when she tried to flee. She escaped while it slept.

Local men tracked the beast to its cave, describing it as growling like a panther and beating its chest. Despite its human-like appearance, they shot and killed it when it charged. The fate of its body remains unknown.

The legend inspired the name of a local brewery, Bear King, commemorating the tale.
