Hoofprints Ofthe Heart .Horse, poultry and livestock rescue

Operating as usual

06/17/2020

Well we are back online we have had some changes over the last few months. We now have a awesome caretaker for the Kentucky location. She has livestock experience and loves the horses. The Arizona location has now opened, we have limited space available in AZ until we get a barn and fencing put up. But we are taking it one day at a time. We have the use of a really nice 4 stall barn so we have a couple spots for horses. We bought 20 acres in the Snowflake area, but we need fencing first then the animals can be brought to the retirement area. We will have a sponsor program restarted for the old guys that just need a place to live forever. We will be bringing hay from AZ to KY every 2 months to provide a better quality hay for the horses there. We have a couple in the retraining program that will be available soon, I will keep everybody updated. Keep watching for new updates

10/12/2019

We are working on a couple new foster locations we have one in Southern AZ again in Benson so we will have a location to take in animals. We will have one in Paris Texas very soon they are working on getting all the corrals and barns set up. We do have contacts in the New England area and in North Carolina for emergencies but no foster homes there yet working on getting places set up so if we need a home asap then we can arrange transport to the rescue. Let me know if you are interested in helping. We will need feed and supplies to keep stocked up and have at the foster locations for emergency in takes. We will be setting up accounts at the local vets if you want to donate. All the info will be on the page as we start taking horses and other livestock in. Thank you for all your support in the past and we hope we can count on all our friends to help out in the future. Keep watching our page for new and upcoming news

I spoke to soon last 2 days it has been 91 degrees here and 50% + humidity, flies are back and brought other bugs with them, lots of fly spray. We still have a Paso Fino Mare that needs a home, she needs some TLC

09/05/2019

Finally cooled down here and no rain from the hurricane yet all the animals are happy that we have cooler weather

08/20/2019

I am rethinking Kentucky today 91 degrees and 65% humidity fans on in the barn and Goats have a fan to keep them cool never have I seen humidity like this. At least in AZ when its hot it is a DRY heat. Needing panels and shades for QT pens that we want to set up, so when new animals come in they have a safe area away from the others for 30 days, to make sure no issues. We have to be extra careful right now with EE and EIA going around the country.

08/19/2019

Hot and Muggy threatening rain but none for us, fly's are so bad spraying horses daily with repellent that is supposed to last 4 days Ugh Hope everyone is doing great Fall is just around the corner

08/05/2019

Hi everybody I am back I went on vacation to AZ for 3 weeks to see grandsons it was great they grow so fast. We have room for a few horses and small poultry or livestock. Call us to talk about your needs. Have a great week

07/25/2019

Well everybody the humidity is horrible with this heat wave but all the animals are doing good they have fans in the barn so the air keeps moving.

07/21/2019

All minis have been adopted so Happy they went to loving homes

06/09/2019

Putting up electric fence to keep the goats from wandering the streets LOL they think the grass is better on the other side of the street

06/08/2019

It has been raining now for a week the mud is nasty and horses are so muddy

05/31/2019

3 days of rain off and on makes everything muddy and has slowed the fence building down We still have the mini geldings available and a paso fino mare ready for their new homes

05/10/2019

We need someone with a bulldozer to do some work building our pond for the domestic and wild ducks and geese that come and stop by for a visit. We want to have a safe space for them to hatch out goslings. I will try to get pictures of the Canadian Geese that stop by.

Interesting afternoon here at the ranch, I see my fan club is growing by leaps and bounds. Apparently a local bus driver called the state police and stated that horses are starving and had no feed. They gave us an excellent bill of health for all the horses, They were shown around so that they could see the hay that we have in inventory, all the grains and feeds that we feed. We offered to show them coggins and health certificates, they said that wasn't necessary that it was unwarranted call, and that they would put a note in for the future that the caller was just harassing me and my horses. ( These are Jame's personal horses) You know it just never ceases to amaze me the amount of low life people out there when you're trying to do something good.

04/20/2019

We do have 4 minis available for adoption at this time 2 mares and 2 geldings

04/20/2019

Anybody coming from Southern AL to Ky or near KY with a spot for 3 mini donks they have been donated to the rescue and trying to get them here sooner than the second week of May Thank you

We are so excited to be getting the pasture fencing put in for the Mini Pen, we will be adding run in sheds for them so they can get out of the weather if they want. We will be able to take in mini horse, mules, and donkeys. Watch for pictures

04/13/2019

We are ready to take in a limited number of horses at this time. We have 2 mule's coming in that will need some groceries and a little TLC. Pictures coming soon. We have a couple of barn stalls that will be available for those that need more attention.
We have a barn that we need to take down and get put back up on one of the ranches. We will be working on fencing and pastures to accommodate more horses in the future.

For anyone wanting to donate feed or supplies there are different ways to donate. You can send Tractor supply gift cards, Rural King gift cards, or paypal [email protected]. We will be setting up a special fund just for veterinarian services.

Hoof Prints of The Heart has finally reopened, We are located in Tollesboro KY. We will have better than a 100 acres devoted to the horses.

We have added a new Chapter to our organization, "Equines of the Shield" a breeding and retirement center for Law Enforcement Horse's, we will be breeding Warmbloods ONLY for this reason to help Law Enforcement have the Horse that they need to protect them and our communities. These horses will not be available to the public. We will offer retirement for the horse's that can no longer patrol the streets of our great nation.
We will have a retirement area for horses that are not suitable for adoption.
A special program is in the works to allow donors to support the retired Law Enforcement horse's here at the rescue.

Many new programs and services are being revamped and added to our organization to better the horses and make changes that help everyone involved.

Keep watching our page for these new changes.

We will have a upcoming for things needed by the rescue.
Lots of new changes are coming with spring.
If anybody has any questions please feel free to send us a message

So sorry Mike and Michelle Alaya wish there was more I could have done!

NO ANIMAL ....no dog, cat, horse, cow, goat or pig. Animals are NOT property; they are God's creatures and they have emotions. They feel happiness, sadness, fear and pain. Unfortunately, the Pinal County Merit Board Panel does not agree. They voted against Mike today and did not reverse the discipline he received (from PCSO) for allowing the neglected & suffering mare to be mercifully euthanized. My heart is breaking for him tonight. It has been a tough 2 days sitting in the hearing room alone, listening to them talk about my husband and not be able to defend him. But, I know, and he knows he did the right thing, the humane thing and because of that we will sleep with a clear conscience tonight. Thank you to everyone who prayed for Mike and for all the kind, supportive and encouraging words.

02/26/2015

Time to shower and get ready for court in the morning. I couldn't go today because I testify tomorrow! From what I hear nobody showed up to show their support for Officer Alaya after everything you would think some of you especially those from Pinal county would have showed up in support of this poor abused mare and her hero office Alaya! Court starts at 8:30am in the morning. I am highly disappointed in how many people truly care and how Pinal county could punish their officer for doing the right thing. Kind of makes me feel that nobody really cares what happens to the animals!
