I'm not posting this because I'm giving up.
Many of you who have been here awhile know that giving up simply isn't in my makeup.
I'm posting this because the reality of rescue right now is serious. Very serious.
For 21 years, Deacon's Hope Rescue has found a way to say "yes" to dogs in need. But veterinary costs continue to rise while donations have slowed dramatically.
This past Friday, we received only one donation.
We simply cannot sustain a rescue on that.
In recent days, we've paid nearly $800 in veterinary expenses, have additional medical needs looming, and continue to provide food, preventatives, and veterinary care for the dogs currently in our program.
The bills continue whether donations come in or not.
I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm asking for help.
Because I want Deacon's Hope Rescue to continue helping dogs for many years to come. Our community needs more rescues, not less.
If you've ever considered donating, there has never been a more important time.
❤️ Every dollar matters.
❤️ Every share matters.
❤️ Every supporter matters.
Together we've saved thousands of dogs through some very challenging times, and I remain hopeful that we can get through this challenge too. 🙏
With gratitude,
