This is the philosophy that Coleigh and I stand by. Your pup will be clean, healthy and happy when they leave. They may be damp in some places because they are scared of the dryer, or their groom may not be perfect, but we will not force any part of a service if they are not accepting of it.
“Well my old groomer could always get that done.” “The vet never has an issue with that.” “He lets me do it at home.”
I’m a comfort groomer.
What I mean by that is I’m not going to push any dog past their comfort zone, or stress them out to get a perfect outcome. To me it isn’t worth it.
I’m not going to restrain your dog if they’re stressed. I’m not going to force the blow dryer if they don’t like it. I’m not going to risk getting hurt, or your dog getting hurt to get a perfect haircut.
“Well why does this take so long?”
I’m a comfort groomer.
If your dog is frustrated or overwhelmed, they get a break. If I get frustrated or overwhelmed, I take a break. I’m a firm believer in dogs have feelings. One day your dog could be 100% perfect for their groom, and the next time they could be having a bad day. I never expect perfection out of any dog.
I treat your dogs how I would want my dogs to be treated. I would never want my dogs put in a situation to stress them out to the max or make them uncomfortable with no breaks.
