A bittersweet final stay…
This is possibly the last time I will be dogsitting for these two incredible pups 😔 I can remember our first time meeting like it was yesterday…
A couple years ago I was asked to dogsit for a protective, reactive german shepherd and his pitty sister. I was still very new to the dogsitting world at the time but said yes because I am not one to back down from a challenge. About 5 seconds into stepping into the home, he bit me on the arm (last picture). I acted like nothing happened. I did not hold it against him, nor did i ever judge him. I was a stranger in HIS home and I knew what I was getting into.
With a lot of cheese and treats, his reactivity towards me in his space died down and we began to build our relationship. From that first day to now, we have become the best of friends ❤️. Heinrich taught me a lot, and I am forever grateful I had the pleasure to get to know him. Presleigh (his sister) or “Miss P” as I call her, was extremely shy when i first met her, and would spend days in her mom’s room and only really come out for food and to go outside. Now she and i catch zoomies in the yard and she will snuggle with me on the couch 💕.
I am going to miss these two so much, and the family that gave me the opportunity to get to know them and love them. Thank you all!
