She was the only survivor in the barn. I’m so amazed at her will to live, even as a 4yr old! She’s such a strong amazing doe and a foundation to many breeders! I will cherish her last years & last litters we can achieve until she’s retired ❤️

Thanks to SS Rabbitry we are getting back to business & working on our start over 🤧 it’s been hectic to see the barn completely empty so we welcome a home grown back, Freedom (only survivor) & Sara gave me apple (Grace’s sister who we lost). Each are getting their individual post😊

He was freedom’s first litter with us, I will forever miss his sister Raven, but so glad he was at my sisters barn during the tragedy! More than blessed to have him back in the barn.

We have some really tragic news to share, while we were welcoming our sweet baby girl into this world. A mistake was made with the AC in the barn (unplug, shut off, etc) the heat index climbed to 107, and our herd suffered a dramatic heat stroke! We lost EVERYTHING. I can’t even express the words to say, I’m too freshly postpartum to even be considering how, why, & what went wrong. Our trusted person came over to feed and found the disaster.
I will share 1 rabbit out of the 8 did make it but she’s on health watch still!

I really can’t even bare to look at this page right now or share any future plans as showing, breeding, everything is brutally ruined. My sister at SS Rabbitry took in the remaining 1 doe. Updates on her will be posted by her as she will take her over. As of now we need prayers! LOTS of them. My mental health & my physical well being is most important for our toddler & new baby! I can’t even make any more tears with how much I’ve cried. I’m gonna mute notifications to this page, and push it off to the side until I feel I can bare looking back on the buns. We haven’t even got home yet to physically see the damage.

Please everyone be mindful with the extreme heat in the southern states, look into barn modifications that can warn you if temperatures rise or fall. Overall take care of your health & your buns health while we wait for fall weather to approach. I want to say we will come back stronger but at this very point I’m not sure. I need a mental break for now to cope❤️

Barn is officially deep cleaned & organized! Cages were scrub & sprayed, trays were scrubbed, cups have been washed & refilled! I have probably removed as much fur out the barn to make 3 fur coats 🤣 Ready for this molt season to end😮‍💨 Nails & grooming has been done on everyone!

Now our page is gonna be on pause these next couple of weeks as we welcome Baby #2 Monday!🥰 i will be healing & taking care of our newborn baby girl💕! I can’t wait to update the page on Jimmy’s 12 week, Raven’s 20 week, & Grace’s 20 week growth all next Month as well as our new addition coming in 2 weeks 🫶🏼

We will not be responding to any messages, we do not have any availability or any upcoming kits! We will not do our breeding rounds until after our grow outs have shown starting September-October (May drag out til November.) We have moved out everything we needed to move, all kits have been placed in their homes so we are strictly on our own start to showing & growing our herd!🥳

DO NOT EVER DO THIS!
If I ever found out someone did this, consider yourself blacklisted. Rabbits do not get bathed, ESPECIALLY mini rex. They definitely do not need to be swimming for their lives on brutally hot days. Rabbits in general have a hard time regulating their body temperature. This can send them into immediate shock. Plus the water compromises the rex fur. I can elaborate more on that in the morning.

“Hey lady is it my time to play”🤣

Nosey pretzel was impatiently jumping around her cage while Jimmy was out roaming the barn floor, finally open the gate for her to come on out while I groomed & fed! The many faces of her is so funny!

*She’s also on a slight diet so she has no enrichments in her cage😅 I may or may not have let her gain almost a whole lb🙈 so we have to get this girl back right before she goes back home to breed 😬
