We’re so grateful for their generous gift made in honor of Baking for Beagles.

Their compassion helps us provide love, care, and second chances to shelter pets in need.

✨ Meet Godzilla, a people-loving pup with a wiggly body, floppy tongue, and a heart full of joy.

From the moment he meets you, he’s all in: affectionate, gentle (yes, even with kids!), and always down to hang out while you work or unwind.

Godzilla is smart. He’s got “sit” and “paw” down pat, and is working on “down,”. He will throw you a high five if there’s a treat on the line. 🍪🐶

He recently completed a week of agility class with our Teen Enrichment Program.

Godzilla isn’t just a dog. He’s a walking dose of sunshine, ready to bring warmth, laughter, and love into your life.

This big, goofy sweetheart lights up every room with his smile. 😁 Come meet him during adoption hours 1:30-6:00pm, and see it for yourself!

🥳 BIG NEWS: Sunny D is HOME! ☀️🏡

Sunny D arrived at St. Hubert’s in late May 2024 from our sister shelter .

While he charmed many staff and volunteers, shelter stress made it difficult for Sunny to connect with adopters and show his true, loving personality.

But Sunny D had a whole community rooting for him. From Field Trippers and regular volunteers to our Foster team and staff super-fans, so many people showed up for this sweet boy.

Finally, after over a year of waiting and multiple loving foster homes, the stars aligned.

Last week, Sunny D was adopted!

A short-term foster stay turned into a loving home with a family who absolutely adore him. (We call that a foster WIN! 🙌)

And now he’s home, surrounded by love. ❤️

We are beyond thrilled for Sunny and so thankful to every person who walked him, fostered him, rooted for him, and never gave up. 🙏

This adoption is such a special one, and a true testament to the impact of a caring community.

💬 Got a favorite Sunny D memory or just want to say congrats? Let’s flood the comments with love! 💕

🎉 Our longest-stay dog has finally gone home! 🥳

We’re celebrating BIG this week! 57 animals found loving homes, including our sweet Sunny D (a.k.a. Sundance). ☀️🐶

Over the course of his year-long stay, Sunny stole the hearts of staff and volunteers with his signature smile and sunny spirit.

Thanks to the dedication of his foster families, our incredible foster team, and every staff member and volunteer who rooted for him, Sunny is now exactly where he belongs - with a family who adores him. 🏡❤️

He isn’t the only one! Swipe through the adoption photos of some other pets who also went home last week.

Thanks to YOU, our incredible supporters, we raised the funds needed during our Giving Tuesday campaign to make this much-needed upgrade.

Our Story

Founded in 1939, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center operates animal shelters in Madison, North Branch and the Noah's Ark Campus in Ledgewood NJ. We welcome animals directly from guardians, animals rescued by our animal control officers, from overcrowded shelters across New Jersey, from disaster situations, and from distance partners. Our nationally renowned Training and Behavior Center, located at our Madison campus, offers specialized training classes and behavior consultations. Additionally, St. Hubert’s provides a variety of community services including pet adoption, humane education, a pet food pantry, low-cost spay/neuter of community cats and a professional education series. We regularly advocate for animal welfare legislation and work to engage our community to help us protect animals in N.J. and beyond. In addition to our role as a nonprofit organization, St. Hubert’s provides animal control services to a number of municipalities in Somerset and Morris counties. Officers assist domestic animals and wildlife in need, and provide educational information to reduce human-wildlife conflicts. St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization—Federal Tax ID 22-1627726. Our animal welfare and community service programs are supported by contributions, grants and bequests for program continuation and expansion.
