Say hello to Connie Capt Colin! Bold red blooms + sturdy stems = a garden superstar. Perfect for cutting, showing, or just admiring.

First grown in 2020 and released in 2025, this variety was hybridized by Connie Young-Davis of Victoria, British Columbia, a grower renowned for producing head-table quality dahlias.  This exceptional dahlia is named in honor of the hybridizer’s husband, Colin, whose distinguished career has been dedicated to the maritime industry.

This beauty is a must-grow for 2026!

1) Netting your dahlias is great during the growing season! Stems grow nice and straight! 🌸

2) Wearing a hat with a pom-pom while digging your dahlias with raised netting is ridiculous....if you do keep your head low as you go! 🤣.

We've been asked an amazing amount of times, How do you store your tubers?"

I am happy to share this video on our plastic bag & flake pine shaving method! We've stored our tubers this way since 2019, a method we learned from Paul Bloomquist from our Whatcom County Dahlia Club. 💛

I hope this video is helpful to you! Let me know if you have questions.

Where do you store them you ask? Glad you asked! An unheated attached garage is great. Ideally 50 degrees F. Not in the fridge. They like airflow. An unheated closet or basement would also work great.
