As it turns out, the lighting upgrade we did in the shop over the winter now produces better photos than the light tent! The metal is a little industrial looking for our liking, but this position captures the snakes true colors PERFECTLY!

Lots of folks just getting in to the ball python hobby are shown juvenile animals, when they arguably look their best.

In order to help educate, we started a series highlighting photographs of the same genetic combo; as a juvenile, against a subadult/ adult.

Then & Now Episode 6

OD (Orange Dream) Vanilla Piebald

The OD Vanilla Piebald is a combination of three genes: the incomplete dominant Orange Dream, the incomplete dominant Vanilla, and the recessive Piebald.

The Orange Dream Vanilla Piebald is a stunning, multi-gene combination, that produces bright orange coloration with bold, irregular white patches. The Orange Dream and Vanilla genes work together to intensify vivid yellows and oranges while cleaning up darker patterns. The Piebald trait then layers large segments of stark white across the body.


This combo is one of our favorites to produce, hence why we produce so many! In our opinion, this is one of the best looks you can achieve with piebalds while staying within an affordable price-point. This season, we will be layering on Super OD, as well as Super Vanilla, and Enchi!

Alright folks, we need your help!
